Kaelyn smiled and stood. She fetched a spare blanket and pillow. Darius put the pillow under Mat's head, and Kaelyn covered him with a blanket. She looked at Darius. "I know. Bed." he muttered and went to his room. Kaelyn smiled and shook her head and went to bed as well.

Two men cautiosly came up the stairs towards the apartment three hours after Mat had fallen asleep. They were assasins and knew to be quiet on there way up the stairs. They got to the door and quietly tried opening the door.

Kaelyn's alarm clock went off. She groaned and got out of bed to shower and get ready for work.

The three men finally got the door open. When they stepped in the first was taken by a knife to the throat. The other two rushed in after Mat as he stood in the hallway. He didnt know how or why he woke up just that he did. He heard Kaelyn's alarm clock go off and then her start a shower before he realized he heard a noise at the door. He woke before her alarm clock went off. One of the man took off towards a different room. He thought it was Daris's. He rushed the other man charging him. He stabbed the man several times before he finally died. He had taken a few cuts himself. But none of them would scar. He ran towards Daris's room.

Darius mumbled something in his sleep, as if he were having a bad dream. Kaelyn showered, unaware of the violence taking place in her apartment.

The man stepped closer to Darius bringing the knife he carried to his throat.

Darius cried out. "Kae-kae! Mat!" he cried, but he was still asleep.

The man shot back in surprise at the Darius's yelling and still beng asleep. But as he jumped back Mat grabbed him and his arm hold ign the knife bringing it behind him painfully enough that he dropped it. "Why did you come after the boy?" He asked the man.

Darius still cried out in his sleep. Kaelyn had just turned off her shower and heard Darius crying for help. She quickly put on her bath robe and ran to his room. "Darius, it's o-...what's going on?" she asked, feeling panic rise up. There was a knife on the floor.

Mat brought the knife to the mans throat. "Tell me." He said warningly as he pressed the knife closer. "I had orders." The man replied. Mat slit his throat after he replied tossing the body aside. He went back to the other two man that were dead now. He searched them and didn't find anything as he had expected.

Kaelyn's eyes widened in shock. She'd just witnessed a murder. Shaking off overreaction, she looked for Mat. "Mat? What's going on?" she demanded angrily. "Why did you just kill that man? And...." she saw the other two bodies. "...did you kill these guys too?"

Pulling his knife out of the first man he had killed and cleaning it off he replied. "Yes. And this is exactly why I don't like staying at places. They've been after me for some reason. And apparently they wanted to kill Darius too." He sneered at the end. He could never forgive someone who killed a child.
