The white wolf raced over the rolling hills of the green meadow, sending birds flying and mice and rabbits going deep in their burrows, not wanting the be the large, elegant creatures next meal. They didn't know that the wolf was not like others of it's kind, that it was actually of another kind altogether.
The white wolf lifted it's head, it's piercing green eyes shot with gold, and peered at the setting sun, it's rays sending a splash of red, pink, and orange across the horizon. The wolf quickened it's speed, it's breath rushing in and out in slightly frantic pants. It had a destination it needed to reach before the burning orange ball dissapeared, finished it's decent to meet the Earth.
Not much longer now, hopefully. The wolf was sure that it's destination was around here somewhere. The gateway's were notorious for moving, like a game of cat and mouse, but it should still be somewhere around here....AH! There!
A shimmering not very far away. A transparent cloak, sparkling like a thousand damonds in the sun. Fast. The wolf needed to be fast or the veil would soon vanish, not to open again until sunrise.
Lowering it's head the sleek beast shot forward, a blur of incredible speed that no normal wolf could possible accomplish. It was just ahead of the wolf now, that shimmering veil seperating two world. Digging it's paws into the earth the wolf leapt, knowing that when it landed it would be in another world altogether.
Or at least should have.
Meredith landed not in Mag Mell, but once again, still, in the world of Iron and Man.
A flash of white light surrounded her wolf form, and when it next vanished she stood as a woman, short curly red hair, fair skin, and piercing green gold eyes. Swearing softly twisted around to look at the sky, her white, lacy dress flowing wide. Seeing the sun completely vanished from the horrizon she swore again, running a hand through her bright locks.
"Great. Now I have to wait till morning..." Her voice rang out like a song, soft and sweet, and the wildlife within distance perked up, approaching Meredith and running in and out between her legs. Smiling down at the creatures a moment Meredith then heaved a heavy sigh before turning and heading for the small town past the meadow and forest. She'd have to find some place to stay till morning...
