The storm itself had gone by fast, and the drowning and the getting lost...That went by quick too.
Being lost lasted for a very long time. Melody tugged her blacks zip-up hoodie more onto her arms and shivered, looking around the blue. It was blue land and blue skies...All blue, no brown nor green nor gray. Just blue. Melody and touched her damp black locks and looked at the man across from her.
Joseph was attractive, but not her type. He hadn't said a fucking word since they survived the hurricane. Everyone died- drowned or got impaled. Or froze, she supposed, or got eaten. It had been a full two days since the ship had gone under, and they'd been lost adrift. There was an emergency kit in each boat, and they were one of the few that salvaged any. She pulled up the half-eaten can of corn and took a bite and grimaced. "I hate corn," she informed him.
Joseph glanced up, dark eyes looking into her amethyst ones. The kid could really babble on and on, couldn't she. He didn't mind that, it replaced the swooshing noise of the water and gulls. "Do you like corn, Joe?" she asked, fidgeting.
"No."
"...Did you lose anyone, Joe?" she asked, tilting her head to the side in question. Joe sighed and shook his head.
"No. But I know you did. I saw you on board with your....presumably father and mother."
That shut her up. She got very sad and looked away to the sea, pulling her knees closer. Joseph sighed and ran a hand through his darker hair and leaned back. This death was going to not only be slow, but painful...Well, he couldn't die, but he'd have to wait for her to die before he could leave. He'd feel bad leaving the poor kid to die alone. Melody sniffled and shivered. "I wish we were in a desert. Then we'd be happy to be damp and stuff," Melody said, nodding her head.
Joe sighed and nodded his head too. "Yeah. Yeah we would."
Damn it, couldn't he just kill her and end the misery?! It was awkward talking to a seventeen year old on a 'destined to die' boat.

Fawkes stood on deck, mopping it up, it was a quiet, windless day, and the shoip was dirty and needed some tidying up. Sadly he'd gotten stuck with the duty because he'd mouthed off to the Captain.
Dez was at the railings, polishing them up, she'd also gotten stuck there, but that was because she'd gotten into a couple of fights on deck because some men had found it funny to try to catch her naked a couple of times. She swore to herself under her breath a couple of times, shaking her head. It wasn't like there were no other woman on board, honestly, this was a co-ed sort of ship, men and women allowed. Though most of the females were in the kitchen or doing the laundry, she was the only one helping to sail.
The deck was empty besides the two of them at the moment, everyone else down below, yelling, drinking, and having a jolly-ol'-time. Which left the other two on deck, in the sweltering heat, in complete silence, working their asses off to clean a ship. Quite suddenly though a swirling seemed the happen from above them, and the sky darkened, it looked like some sort of void was opening up in the sky, though it was just a mass of clouds spiarling around. Fawkes looked up boredly and then looked away, going back to swabbing, not interested.
~Modern Days~
A whirpool slowly started forming beneath the raft that Melody and Joseph were in. It grew and grew at an amazing speed and started to suck them down, spinning them around and around, like they were going down a drain of doom. They were completely sucked down and then spat out the other side.
~Pirate Days~
Oddly the swirling void grew down into a tornado of sorts, heading for there ship, it never entirely reached though, and instead dropped out two figures in an odd boat right oneot the ships deck before the tornado disappeared and the sky went back to normal.
Fawkes dropped the mop and stared at the newly arrived people. Dez walked over caustiously. "Hn, you think they're alive?" Fawkes asked, they could see Melody and Joeseph from their positions, and were nervous to go over there after the odd events.

Melody and Joseph looked down at a funny rumbling followed by a whirlpool. Melody nearly just jumped ship, but Joseph held her down and sucked in a breath- he knew what it was after a few moments.
Melody screamed at first, and then clammered up and clung to Joseph as their raft crashed and bounced against...A wooden one? She was shaking under his arms as he sat up slowly, exhaling calmly. "...HOW ARE YOU CALM!?" she asked, loudly, still looking quite shaken. She was a half-breed, and so she'd only briefly heard about portals. Joseph glanced around and spotted the two on deck, and observed their clothes, and then looked down at his own. "Girl, you need to calm down," he murmured and stood, grimacing. His leg had gotten fucked up. Melody stood and looked at the two, and then how they were dressed. "....I failed world history, what time period is this?" she asked Joseph in a whisper. He had to chuckle at that and limped over. "E-Excuse me....Um...Where are we?"

Fawkes jumped a little bit at the screaming and yelling but smirked when he saw the two people, he laughed at their clothing. "What the hell, look at these idiots." He laughed into Dez's ear, nudging her a bit. She just slapped his arm away, taking a step away from him. "You're on a pirate ship at see, obviously." Fawkes said and grinned pompously. "Awe, you see that? He's hurt and stupid!" The man pointed out happily, enjoying this.
The woman glared at the two, already not trusting the both of them. "The ship is named the Bloody Duchess... This ship is owned by Warwil Axeager, the Captain." Dez said, eyeing Joseph up and down, trying to judge if she'd be able to take him down if they ever got into a fight. She looked at Melody, raising her eyebrows at the girl. "Tell me who you are and what your business here is."

Joseph and Melody exchanged a glance, then looked at the two. "Um...Pirate...ship?" Melody echoed and looked around, then at the woman. "So do they rape you?" she asked, and Joseph swatted her in the back of hte head.
"Ignore her...Please. She's just a teenager. We were in a wreck in our time, and somehow stumbled over a portal and now we're here. We mean no harm, have no weapons-" "Canned food could be a weapon," Melody interjected. "Corny projectiles!" SHe did a stupid 'ninja' swat and giggled, then gulped. She was giddy from panic. Joseph smacked her on the back of the head and glared at her, and she piped down for a few moments.
"Please please please, ignore her..." he begged, bowing his head and getting on his knees, dragging her with him. "WE are at your mercy," he said and glowered at Melody. He mouthed 'say that.' "WE are at YOUR mercy," she echoed, looking up at the girl and boy. THe boy sure was handsome. She really did wonder if the girl got raped...That'd so suck!

The two of them listened, Fawkes laughing and smirking the entire time, he especially enjoyed when they got down on their knees and begged, it was hilarious. "Raped?," Dez paused, "pirate ships are made up of slaves and ex-sailors, the slaves are freed, that goes for men and woman, there is no raping on this ship of fellow crew members." She snapped and shook her head, this already seemed like it was going to turn out to be difficult.
"A portal, wow... So you guys are from a different time. Quaint." Fawkes cooed and grinned at the both of them. "You know, it might be fun, to have you guys as slaves... Why don't we ask the Captain, eh?" He said, looking at Dez, she glared at him. "Don't be a dumbass. You two, future-dwellers or whatever, you'll have to stay aboard the ship." Dez put her hands on her hips. "We'll inform the Captain of your presence, hopefully he won't feed you to the sharks."

Joseph raised his head. "Oh, I wouldn't die if you fed me to the sharks, but by all means please-" Melody frowned. "We aren't survivor-friends?" she whispered sadly. Joseph looked at her sad face, felt bad, and sighed. "Nevermind. Please let us stay here...."

Dez stared at Joseph with a simple look on her face, "it'd be fun to watch them rip you apart though." She walked past the two of them and went down below deck, a little worried that she might get in more trouble for bothering the Captain. Fawkes sneered in a high and mighty fashion and gestured for them to follow Dez. "Let's get a move on, shall we? I'm excited to see what the Captain's going to decide to do with you two little drop-on's."

Joseph stood and helped Melody up, who was, at this point, looking a bit pale. He followed silently, an arm around Melody. "Please don't throw up," he pleaded in a whisper. "You want to live, right?" She nodded slowly. "Then don't v-" Out spewed corn onto his boots, and he sighed, patting her back. After another moment, it was all out of her system. Joseph looked pained as he checked her temperature and such- just a little bit sick. Probably from getting sucked through a hurricane and a portal-hole in a matter of days...and exposure to the elements. He quickly slid out of his boots and walked barefoot, leaving his messy boots behind. She kicked her shoes off too, as they had gotten messy as well.

Fawkes looked over his shoulder when he heard the sound of... Well... Vomiting. "Did you hear tha-" "Yes. Shut up." Dez snapped before he finished, she looked really pissed off since she'd be one of the ones that had to clean the mess up. She looked over her shoulder and glared at all of them darkly. Fawkes smirked at her anger and waved his hands, gesturing hfor her to just turn away and take them to the Captain. This earned him a glare which he ignored easily. Dez stopped at a door, knocked three times, waiting a couple seconds and then opened the door, finding the Captain in there, the high back of his chair was facing them and the only visible thing was the stop of his black hat along with a swirling light smoke that wafted into the air from the pipe he was most likely inhaling from. "Sorry to bother you Captain, their are to people here that would like to ask for permission to reside on the ship... They... Dropped from the sky." She said and turned to Melody and Joseph, motioning for them to come forwards. "Explain your situation to me you two, i'd like to hear what has occured in full detail." The Captain's voice, soft for a man's, called from his spot invisible to them.

Joseph clamped a hand over Melody's. "Captain, in our world there was a hurricane that rendered us lost at sea. We were on the water for two days when a portal opened up and sucked us....well, down to here and we fell onto your ship. We aren't enemies, and we'll do whatever you want," he said, bowing his head and forcing her to bow hers. Melody didn't like Joseph anymore.

The Captain hummed thoughtfully and puffed more smoke up, he lifted a hand up, tanned, scarred, and large with an assortment of jewelled rings laid finely upon it. "I see no harm in allowing you to stay, if I ask something of you though, you must not question it. And have no fear of any of the others that dwell on my vessel. They will be no bother, fore we're all family, brothers and sisters of the sea... And though we may be a little rowdy, we're the finest people you'll ever hope to meet." He spoke, it was almost riddle-like in a way, he smooth and caressing voice practically singing to them. He was like that though, the Captain, always regal and melodic, quite the man and very fine indeed. "You'll most likely need more practical clothing, go off and find some, i'm sure Ray and Fawkes wouldn't mind sharing or searching." He said and his hand moved a little, signalling for them to leave him in peace. Dez muttered under her breath, of course she minded, she shooed her three companions out of the room then followed, slamming the door behind her. "To bad the Captain's such a nice guy, would've loved to hear your cries of pain and agony when you were eaten up." Fawkes whispered into Melody's ear and then chuckled, thinking about it. "Haha... Mm... Anyways... Clothes."

Melody scowled. "If you'd of fallen in our world, I would have pushed you in front of a bus," she muttered, and Joseph smacked her head. "Can it, we got sparred," he growled and snapped his fingers. He followed the two for clothes, eyeing Melody. How long until she died or went missing so he could go home? He wanted to jump to Death's office, and speak to him about maybe shortening it to...four minutes. But he wouldn't, not meddling with fate was what he did. "...He seemed nice," Melody commented, then slowed, getting sick again. "...." Maybe I should consider intervening with fate. I do not think I can withstand god knows how long with this...child.

"Push me in front of a bus, eh? Ouchie." Fawkes laughed and shook his head a little, he knew what a bus was, him and Dez both did, they weren't ignorant to the other realms and what not, they knew about them. Dez opened the door to a room, the laundry room and lead them over to some cupboards, she opened them up, revealing lots of folded clothing. "He's a generous man, you're lucky you landed on this ship. Others would've killed you, sold you, raped you... Tortured you." She said and snapped her fingers. "Get yourselves some clothes."

Joseph listened silently. Well, that was interesting. They knew of other realms. "You wouldn't happen to know a way back, would you?" he asked as Melody pulled out a pair of strange pants and shirts. "Why do I have to change?" she asked, sounding upset. "These look...itchy." "Just. Do. It," Joseph growled at her, and she was silenced fairly quickly. She tugged on the clothes, not caring if they looked....But halfway through the shirt she sunk to the floor, leaning over and gagging. No food at least, but painful nonetheless.
