I looked at the time. '1:00 already?? holy crap, where did the day go?' i thought. Ive been sitting in my house doing absolutely nothing for the entire day. I played a couple games with my friends, but that's about it. I decided to go out for a stroll for the hell of it. I put my sword around my back and went outside. My friends had gone to sleep when i left. I was actually secretly hoping that Dawn would still be where we met. I went back to the coffee shop and ordered the usual. When i got my coffee, i went around to the back, took off my sword and put it next to me and layed down and stared at the stars.

I finished my shift and locked the bakery. I was walking home, doing my usual routine. Stopped at the butcher shop, then went to the coffee shop. I got a mocha frappucino and stirred the whip cream into the coffee. I noticed a turned vampire enter the coffee shop a little after I got my coffee. Not wanting to get noticed, I took the back exit. I was looking behind me to see if I was being followed when I tripped. "Wow" I said as I went down. I landed with one hand supporting me, while the other one miraculously still held my mocha. I looked at what I tripped on. "Sorry. What are you doing, laying on the ground Copper?" I asked, startled to see my rescuer from last night.

As i was laying on the ground, i felt someone trip over me. As soon as heard their voice, i knew who it was. I chuckled quietly to myself. "One, i like to look at the stars, and two, it's Cooper." I said helping her up. 'She wasn't the brightest star in the sky, but she was still nice.' i thought.

Emotionally, he felt normal. More relaxed then he was last night. I shoke of his hand to help me up. "I want to see the stars too" I said as I layed on my back, looking up at the stars and his face. I then frowned. "How did you get that scar on your eye?" I asked him.

I sat back down. I rested my arms on my legs and I looked away. I didn't like talking about how I got my scar. Seeing my mother's face for the last time before they killed her. It was too painfull to remember. I clenched my hand as hard as I could. I then let my body relax, remembering that there was nothing I could do, and I did as much as I could. I rested my hand over my scar, and told her, "My mother got killed by a gang. I got cut up by them when I was trying to help her." I said as I bit my lip.

"Oh, I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have asked." I said. His pain hit my like a bulldozer. I felt sick for a few seconds before I got used to the emotion. I sat up next to him. Feeling like I should comfort him, I hug him at an awkward side angle.

As she hugs me I say, "No, no, its fine, really." I've gotten used to it over the years, but it still pains me to think about it. I put my hand on her arm to acknowledge her hug. It was comforting, yes, but didn't know what to think of it.

"You sure?" I ask, sitting in front of him. I can tell he is still in pain. "Something like that never goes away. You might try to hide it, but it's still there."

Honestly, when she pulled away, I felt a little sad. I didn't want her to stop holding me. But i shook it off. "I'll be fine. Thank you." i said smiling.

"Why are you sad?" I ask, scooting closer to him.

"Well, you were just sad. Why?" I ask. Then I remembered about my gift. "Oh, never mind." He hadn't shown he was sad, but I had felt it. Why did he have to be so good at hiding his emotions from showing? It made it harder for me to know if he was showing them, or if I was feeling it.

I assumed when she said never mind, she was embarrassed. But I continued. "No it's fine." I said still smiling, then I chuckled. "It's really obvious why I would be sad right now."
