Lilly watched him and sadly shook her head. "I didn't get enough school. I had to leave when I was done witht he 4th grade...Is that bad?" she asked, trying to relax but unable to. He had looked her up adn down, which triggered a whole new line of panic in her mind.

"No... I guess not." This girl was a little strange. She seemed to need approval, and still felt bad when he gave it. She acted like a dog that had been hit all it's life, moving away when a hand raised. "I'm not going to hurt you." He felt like he had to say it, the look she was giving him was just making him feel bad.

Lilly mumbled an apology for causing paranoia and looked away again. "May I go home now? You don't have to drive me, I'll be okay." she asked and stated at once. SHe kept her gaze directed on the floor. Calm down. It'll be okay. He might let you leave...But he might give you a ride. What if that bothers him? I don't want to bother him. I already have. she thought.

"You have no shoes. It's no problem for me to drive you home." He stood up. "You sure you're ok though? I don't want to take you home and then have you fall unconcious and never wake up..."

Something in her eyes said that she probably wouldn't mind not waking up. "I'm fine...I can go..." she mumbled, slowly standing, cringing in pain and grasped her head, then sat back down. My head... she thought, rubbing it.

"Ummm..." Lade looked at the girl. "I'm not sure you are." He got up, moving around his small apartment, he came back with a glass of water, a pillow and a folded blanket. "I think this might be a long night." He had heard you are supposed to keep people that might have concussions awake.

Lilly watched him go then come back. She looked at the items and stood again, keeping her balance. "I'm okay. I just stood....up to fast. That's all. You know...um...blood rush or something...like that..." she mumbled, trying to reassure him that she was fine.

"Sit down. Just spend the night here. You'll be warm, safe, and I'll make sure you wake up in the morning." Lade didn't like what he had seen in her eyes a few minutes before. He defiently didn't want to be responsable for driving a sucidal trama patient home and then her dying.

Lilly obeyed after a moment. She sat down and stared numbly at the floor. The Tylenol was kicking in and she was getting sleep. "Am I allowed to go to sleep, sir?" she asked, eyes still on the floor and tone polite but monotonous.

"Hey, look here a moment." Being so old, he had seen quite a few concussion patients. Her eyes looked pretty even. "You probally can. But my name is Lade, you don't have to call me sir..."

"sorry, Lade." she apologized for calling him sir. She was happy she could go to sleep. She looked up at him. "I'm...Lilly." she mumbled her name to him, afraid he didn't care who she was and was just being conciderate.

"It's ok, Lilly." He smiled at her. "I hope you sleep well.." He murmered, getting up. Brushing off his pants, he got ready to move to his room. "Call me if you need me." Walking away, he wondered if he should leave a light on. "Do you want the light on?"

Lilly watched him stand. She shook her head. "No, it's okay if you leave them off, Lade." she mumbled and made herself a bed on the couch. She paused, then decided she would go in to work late instead of cause him trouble.

Lade flipped the lights off, and went to the bathroom. After he took a shower, he went to bed. He slept soundly all night, only waking when he heard noises from the front room. When he checked, everything was fine, so he quit getting up, just waited to see if she called for him. When eight o'clock came, he got up and started breakfast.

Lilly rolled over and off the couch. She woke up, sniffing the air. She looked around slowly and saw that Lade was cooking in the kitchen. It had to be 8 or 9 o clock in the morning. I'm late. Oh well. I'll explain why I suppose. Hopefully I don't get p-...They don't do that. It's nto slavery. she reminded herself and stood up slowly, lookign around hte apartment blankly.
