"I never said stalker," she retorted but paused. "I don't think. Nonetheless, hey...How come you got all tense when she asked about getting food last night?" She had her head tilted. She was still in her work uniform.

"You didn't, but you did call me wierd and you seemed to act like you thought I was stalking you. I'm good at reading people." Merle shrugged at her question. "I didn't really want any food and I saw who I assumed to be your friend stumbling around and almost getting hurt."

"...So why'd you look like you were afraid of something?" she asked, confused. "Or is that just you being weird, Stalker?"

"Just me being weird. When you actually take the time to talk to me instead of ignoring me and giving me useless answers, you get used to the weirdness."

"They were useless, you could've looked up my website and read the new book description," she replied with a dull, sarcastic tone. "not my fault you're useless too."

Merle laughed at her. "I may be a lot of things, but useless is definitly not one of them." The shifter turned his attention back to the hats, trying to decide what one to try on.

"...So why the hats, weirdo?" she asked curiously.

"I like hats and am in need for a new one... Why else would I be looking at them?" he countered.

"I don't know. To hide. From your drunk friend?" she replied right off the bat and watched him. "I think you should wear one of those baggy ones that are so popular nowadays."

"Unfortunatly my friend wasn't drunk last night, she's always like that." he responded and turned to look at her. "Baggy hats?" he asked, looking confused. What was the point of a baggy hat?

She walked over to one and pulled it on. It clung to the back of her head- as was the style- and rolled down the back in a baggy fashion. "This hat," she said nad pointed to it. Hers was pink, and it flattered her.

Merle's head tilted to the side as he studied her. The hat definitly looked good on her, but he had a feeling he wouldn't like the style so much on him. "Should a boring person really be a fan of such a bright color?" he joked.

"Huh?" she replied. "I just grabbed one to show you..." she picked up a nice brown one with a few pink and gray stripes. "I like this one most."

Merle nodded in approval. "Much more 'you'." he agreed. "You help me find a hat I'll buy that one for you." he offered.

Emily blinked in surprise. "No, it's alright," she said and set it down. "I don't wear hats often, this is just what's in style...My store gets tons of them shipped in everyday." She sighed softly and looked around. "How about that hat there," she said, pointing to a baseball cap.
