The woods were alive. The heart beat of every living creature within them merging into a hectic, spontaneous explosion of music that pounded in the wolf's ear as he ran. Beneath the pad's of his paws the moss covered ground greeted him, the tree's around him swayed in the wind, their limbs outstretched as if longing to graze his magnifiance. Up above birds flew with him, keeping to his pace. Crows soared low to his powerful form, urging him faster, pushing him to his boundaries and then beyond. Accepting the challenge, the wolf lowered his massive white head, his ears flattening to his skull and strained his sleek, powerful muscles to push harder. He needed to feel the wind lashing against his furred face. He needed to race the wind itself. Unable to hold back the flood of pleasure and happiness, the wolf raised it's head to the canopy of tree's and released a long, deep howl before shaking his head and peeling his lips back in a snarling grin as he continued to run.
He was at peace, in that moment. The very Earth welcomed him, applauded his existence, celebrated his creation in a cry of exhilaration that only one of the Kindred could recognize. It was a quickening of the heart, a tingling of the muscles and a sense of belonging. This was who he was. This was who he had always been meant to be. Wild. Free.
The wolf ran for a long while, until the rising sun had began to pale the sky to a splash of pale pink, purple, and bright orange, and then, at last he stopped. Sadness overcame him for a short moment, but it was gone quickly enough. He could always run. Would never stop.
Stretching his powerful form the wolf released a growling yawn and shook his body, his fur standing on edge. Lifting deep blue eyes to the edge of the forest he finally began to change. Light surrounded him, seeming to seep from his very body, and from that light a new shape was formed. One that stood on two legs and had wide, broad shoulders and long, muscular legs. When the light had finally subsided fully, a young man stood in the woods. He was fair haired, and strong of face, with a sharp jaw line, cheek bones, and the same deep blue eyes as the wolf. He wore a pair of faded blue jeans that had a worn hole in one knee, and a white short sleeved button down that had a skull on the left breast as well as intricately flowing black lines and designs.
Lifting his hand the boy patted the pocket over his left breast, grinning as he felt the familiar boxy design. Fishing inside the pocket he pullled out his cigarette's and jerked the box a bit, catching the end of one with his mouth before returning the box to his pocket. He fished for a lighter and lite it, inhaling a deep drag before blowing out a puff of curling smoke.
Cracking his neck a few times Anthony released a loud yawn, running his hand over his hair a few times before beginning to walk again. "Hate mondays." He muttered as he stepped out of the woods and headed for Bradberry High which was a short distance away.

The large form of a German Shepherd/wolf mix dog lumbered up the stairs, her long legs but lean build giving her height an intimidating stature. As she padded down the hall, moonlight hit her red, black, brown, and tan fur. She stopped at a door that had stickers all over it, glancing up at them before letting out a little whimper and pawing it open. Prodding her nose into the crack, Rae pushed the door open completely and trotted over to the large bed that held her human's sleeping form. She came around to the side, peering at his sleeping face. His black and white hair was strewn messily over his face, the white bangs looking silver in the fading moonlight from his window. Rae whined at Dennis, but the boy didn't wake up. So, she went to extreme measures - jumping up onto him and growling in his ear. "Wake up, now!" She demanded, feeling as if she might burst. Dennis nearly shouted in surprise at being so rudely awakened, narrowing his brown and blue eyes at the dog standing on top of him - literally. Her large paw was digging into his lower gut. Shoving her off, he sat up and yawned loudly. "What, Rae?" He asked grumpily, glancing over at his alarm clock. "It's five in the morning!" He stage whispered, glaring at her. "I have to do some business that involves you opening the back door for me." Rae replied calmly, sitting primly on the bed and thwacking her tail against the mattress. Dennis groaned, but obliged the dog by following her downstairs - unlocking and pushing the back door open. Once she slipped out, he shut it and went upstairs. Getting ready for Dennis took only a little work - a quick shower, straightening his hair, and picking out a band tee and a pair of dark skinny jeans only took him about an hour tops. By the time he was ready to start walking, Rae had started barking at the back door, demanding to be let back in. "See you later, Rae." Dennis called over his shoulder to the female dog, who was now lazily flopped on the couch, her head on her paws. Rae gave him a doggy grin. "Have fun at school, human." She replied with a soft bark of pleasure. Dennis rolled his eyes at her before pushing the front door, heading straight down the road and towards his school, Bradberry High.

Anthony was really going to have to begin prioritizing his way of thinking. Why he hell had he come to school so early again? Cause it was boring sitting at the house? Opposed to how boring it was sitting on the stairwell that lead to the top of the school? Yah. He'd be sure to sleep in next time.
Blowing out a puff of slightly agitated air Anthony turned up the volume of his MP3 player, hard music pounding in his ear. Leaning his back against the wall he nodded his head to the beat of the song and pulled one knee upwards, resting his wrist over it.
At least he wasn't as antsy as he had been early this morning. He had woken at four with a near uncontrollable urge to shed his human skin and run as a Kindred....It was getting out of hand, lately....the urge....so much so that the transformation was near spontaneous, brought on by itself and not his command.
Anthony knew the danger of this. Knew that if he didn't find out what was wrong with him there was the chance of suddenly transforming in public.
Of all the rules the Kindred had, that was one of the most important. In fact, you could say it was number uno.
Groaning Anthony lifted his hand to run it through his messy hair, something he did when he was stressed out. Glancing down at his watch he saw that it was finally near time for class to start. Other students should be starting to come in. Shutting off his MP3 player he stuffed it and his earbuds in his backpack that he kept in his locker and stood, slinging his pack over one shoulder and beginning to head down the stairs.

Dennis got to the school just in time for his usual sprint to the bathroom before class, so he barreled through the slow crowd of students, shoving past the annoying ones who stopped in the middle of the hall. Behind him he caught snappy voices, groggy and too annoyed for so early in the morning, shouting at him. Whatever, he didn't ever really care when kids got angry with him. He went into the bathroom, heaving a sigh of relief. If he did his business quickly, he wouldn't be late to class. Again.

And the madness begins. Stepping down to the ground level of the school, Anthony entered the chaotic crowd of students, immedietly feeling like the walls were closing in on him. Feeling someone shove up against him he looked down with a glare, his lip twitching in aggravation. The boy that had accidentally bumped into him jumped back, his eyes shooting wide and giving Anthony a wide birth. It really paid to be an asshole sometimes. Anthony had always hated being in overly crowded places, so hated the periods between classes. He always felt smoothered, trapped. Like a caged animal gnawing at it's bars. Releasing a deep sigh he glared at anyone who moved a little too close, daring anyone to enter his open space. He was just about to swing into his first period class when a sudden scent slammed into him, and he staggered to a halt, his eyes shooting wide and his body stiffening. A rush of adrenaline flooded his body, and static electricity made the hair on the back of his arms and neck stand on edge. Released a short, choaked gasp, Anthony jerked his gaze up, his wide eyes searching the halls. That scent.....where was it coming from? This time completely oblivious to the packed halls, Anthony walked in a dazed like state, scenting the air, drawing close and closer to the source. It was much stronger now, and Anthony released a hiss of annoyance at the people in front of him, not hesitating to push them out of his way. He was aware of a few shouted complaints, then shocked quiet when the people realized who he was, but paid it no attention. Hurriedly turning a corner he finally came to a stop, staring at the men's bathroom door a few feet in front of him. There. It was in there. The scent. Could it really be? Here? In the same school? What were the chances of that, really? Licking slightly dry lips Anthony finally moved forward slowly, his hand outstretched and reaching for the door handle.

He was definitely going to be late. In a hurry, Dennis washed his hands and dried them before turning to the door, moving fast and shoving it open. Except it didn't swing easily out, it hit an obstacle and nearly came back and hit him in the face. Realizing the only thing he could have hit being a person, Dennis shoved the door again and swung around, staring at his victim. Oh, shit. It was Anthony - the local "gang" kid. Dennis never really spoke or hung near him, but he'd heard enough about this kid to know he was bad news and had a monstrous bad side if you crossed him. "Oh, shit!" He hissed, voicing his thoughts. "I'm sorry. Are you okay?" Feeling like death was breathing down his neck, Dennis almost grinned in relief when the bell rang for class to start. "Uh, I've gotta go. Sorry, man!" He said quickly, turning and nearly running down the hall.
That was a close one, and Dennis wasn't much for confrontation. He slid into his class right in time, heading for his usual seat by the window - he didn't like sitting among other students. He felt claustrophobic.

"Holy fucking shit!!!" Hissing loudly Anthony grabbed his throbbing nose with a wince, his eyes squinted in pain. Not only did his damn face hurt, but his ass felt sore from where he had fallen backwards when the door had hit him in the face. TWICE! Turning a death glare up Anthony felt his blood boiling, and was ready to serve some major whoop ass when he saw who was in front of him. He listened to the kid's rambled apology with wide eyes, silent. And then turned to stare with even wider eyes as he abruptly turned and practically RAN away down the hall as the bell rang. Anthony sat there for a long while, completely stunned, unable to move. Until finally he struggled to a stand, still looking down the now empty hallway. ".....No fucking way." REALLY Are you fucking serious??? Him?! "No way. No fucking way." He said again, shaking his head. Dennis?? The little emo kid? Releasing a short, barking laugh Anthony shook his body, ridding himself of the initial shock. It couldn't be. There had to be some other explanation. Someone else must have been in the bathroom and Anthony just hadn't seen them because the little turd had hit him with the damned door. Growling in annoyance Anthony looked around, scenting the air. It was still there, though. The scent....So whoever it was coming from had to be close. Following it again, Anthony stopped yet again in front of a door. This time the door to his homeroom class. Shaking his head in confusion he grabbed the handle and pulled it open, stepping into the class. His teacher, Mr. Cox, immediately grumbled displeasure of him being late, but Anthony ignored the man, looking around the room as he stood there. When he found his eyes drawn to the back, a desk by the window, he felt shock enter him again. "No fucking way." He muttered once again. "Excuse me, Mr. Harrow?" Mr. Cox bit out sharply, and Anthony dragged his gaze to the man, who was looking at him with arched brows. "Would you mind taking a seat now?" Not bothering to answer, Anthony finally headed for a seat. He walked right past the one he usually sat at, though, and instead headed for the back, continuing to glare at that one desk near the window. More importantly, the person who was sitting in it. Dennis.

Dennis was brought from his relaxation - and relief - when Anthony walked into the room. His eyes widened, and for a minute he stared right back at Anthony. Wait. Was he coming back here? No! That wasn't right. He was supposed to sit up there, away from him. Dennis wanted to sink into the ground, and he ducked his head and stared at his desk. He was so dead. He glanced up, as if Anthony might have suddenly disappeared, and met Anthony's heated gaze with his own anxious, multi-colored eyes. His anxiety hit immediately, his eyes darkening with emotion, the brown one almost black now and the blue one turning a deep ocean color. Shit. He looked away again, trying to think of a way to apologize without sounding like a total noob - he wasn't scared, really, of Anthony. More like of being beaten up if he let his rebellious, snotty side get ahead of him. Apologizing wasn't beneath Dennis when it was necessary. Had he broken the guy's nose? A quick glance told him no. Good. That was always a good start - no broken bones, not very much damage. He sank down in his seat, staring more at the window than out of it, panic choking him. He couldn't apologize now, what if Anthony straight up punched him in the face? Not in front of all these asshole kids in class. He'd die if he had to listen to their snide jokes every day.

Aware of Mr. Cox', as well as the rest of classes eyes on him, Anthony narrowed his glare when Dennis quickly jerked his wide eyed gaze away to stare at the window. Anthony could smell the anxiety rolling off of him in massive waves and couldn't help but feel a bit of glee at the knowledge. He wasn't sadistic, or anything, but had always felt a certain sense of....pride, when people feared him. No, it wasn't fear exactly, it was more of an intimidated respect. Good. Anthony demanded respect, even craved it. He sure as hell had had it jipped earlier in life. Thinking of the past made his mood darken immedietly, and Anthony sneered, pushing the thoughts away. Besides, he had more important matters at hand. Like why the hell Emo Dennis had the scent of a Kindred in transformation.
It was impossible. Well, not really, but Anthony refused to believe it. The kid couldn't be Kindred. Sure, Anthony didn't really know him all that well, but he seemed so incredibly normal to Anthony. Well, as normal as an emo kid could be. Anthony wasn't going to pretend, he just didn't get the whole emo/scene/whatthehellever thing that a lot of teenagers were into now days. What the hell was so awesome about dying your hair multiple or insanely vibrant colors? Sure as hell must have had to dish out a lot of money to keep it that way.
But how could Anthony explain the scent? Maybe the kid had come in contact with a Kindred and the scent had rubbed off on him? That was possible, right?
"Yo." Anthony stared at Dennis, sitting sideways in his chair. "You talk to anyone this morning?"

Dennis blinked, turning his face towards Anthony. Was he talking to him now, then? What for? And why such a weird question? Everyone in the school knew Dennis didn't really have friends here. He almost wanted to laugh at the question, but he figured that'd only further piss Anthony off and he'd have even bigger problems. "No, I haven't." He replied, raising a brow slightly. He couldn't help it - when he was curious about something he had to ask, "Why?"

Dennis' brow scrunched together in confusion, and he stared back at Anthony like he'd grown a second head. "Uh...thanks?" He said, a sarcastic lilt to his tone. He couldn't help it - he did not stink! He showered. He couldn't smell bad enough to piss some guy off. Dennis figured the conversation was over and turned his face back towards the front of class, crossing his arms over his torso.

Dennis felt his temper spike, but he fought for control of his tongue and narrowed his eyes at Anthony. "No, I haven't spoken to anyone but you." He replied, annoyed with this already. He couldn't tell what Anthony was up to - he clearly wasn't going to beat him up, at least not in class, so that was a relief. But what was up with the weird questioning? And why did it seem so important?

Anthony couldnt help but to draw back in slight surprise. The kid actually had some guts. Anthony wasnt sure why but he was thrilled with the discovery. Even more interested anthony arched a brow, trying to keep his lip from drawing up at the corner.
Something very strange was happening, there was no denying that. Either way...anthony had to get to the bottom of it. Letting it go for now anthony sat the rest of the class in silence, his gaze never moving from Dennis.
