Dennis felt a flush of relief and turned back towards class, but he didn't pay attention for long. Instead he looked out the window, watching the world outside and waiting for class to hurry up. He already planned on shooting out of here - he didn't feel like being interrogated by Anthony after class. Maybe Anthony was done, but Dennis had a feeling it was all just getting started.

At the end of the day, after the last bell had sounded and the students had rushed out of their classes and the building, Anthony stood with his back to the school wall, near the row of shrubs that lined it's entrance. The steps were directly to his left, and they stood tall and way over his head, while the students rushed down their cement blocks and hurried to their cars or bikes, or even walked. Pulling his cigs from his pocker, Anthony lit one and took a deep drag, his eyes on the students that passed; waiting for one in particular.
He had had four classes with Dennis, and in all four of them had tried to figure out another explanation as to why Dennis held the scent of a Kindred in Transformation, but had been unable to. Was it ppossible that the boy was one of him?
Anthony intended to find out, once and for all.

Dennis always enjoyed the end of the day - getting out of the school and watching all the kids running around like mice that broke free from their cages. He came out front, the warm sun hitting him as he made his way down the front steps and - without looking back - continued down the sidewalk towards his house.

Seeing, or rather smelling Dennis, sure enough the boy sppeared, heading down the steps and walking away fromt the school. Good. He walked home. Putting out his cig on the cement of the steps, Anthony moved forward, tossing it in the trash as he tailed Dennis. He briefly wondered how far away he lived, and then realized that it may be best to shift forms to something a bit less conspicious. Breaking off into a jog, Anthony entered the woods around the school, and after a moment a younglabrador walked out of their shelter. Taking off into a trot Anthony hurriedly caught up with Dennis, ignoring various girl's cries of excitment at seeing his dog form. What was it with chicks and furry animals? Coming to a slow walk a few feet behind Dennis he stared up at the boy. He'd follow him home.m would cntinue to tail him until he found out what was going on.

Dennis heard rather than saw the dog - the click of nails on the cement caught his attention. He glanced behind him at the dog, wondering whose it was. He liked dogs, and thought about speaking to it - but decided against that. He didn't want the poor animal following him home, only for Dennis to shut him out. Rae didn't much like other dogs. Once he got home, Dennis was greeted in the front yard by Rae - clearly Kate was home. Sure enough, Kate - his younger sister, with curly brown hair and a bright grin - came out of the front door and ran towards him. She was only six, and was as girly as you could get - but he loved that about her. He caught he and picked her up, swinging her up onto his hip. "Hey, Denny!" Kate said brightly, kissing his cheek. "Hey, girly." Dennis replied, walking up to the front porch and setting her down. "How was school?" Rae followed them, complaining about how Kate had come home and smothered her with a hug. Dennis ignored his dog, throwing her a narrow-eyed look before turning back to Kate. His little sister beamed, "It was fun. I drew you something. I hung it up on the Wall." The Wall was his bedroom wall, above his bed's headboard. It had at least a million drawings that Kate had done for him. "Great. Hungry?" He asked, leading the way inside.
----
After feeding Kate, he helped her on her homework before turning on a movie for her - The Incredibles. Her favorite movie, because she loved super heroes. He left her in the living room and went up to his room with Rae, sitting on his bed with her by his side and opening his backpack to work on homework.

Jesus christ, if I have to sit here any longer I'm going to go insane. Releasing a growling yawn Anthony lowered himself to his belly and rested his head on his front paws. He had followed Dennis home, had watched as he greeted and hugged who he assumed to be his little sister, and then went back inside. With his excellent hearing he didn't have to be in the house to know what the boy was doing. Thank God my life isn't so boring.[/-] Blowing out a puff of air Anthony shut his eyes, licking his chops before giving a dog sigh. Absolutely nothing had happened since he had followed Dennis home, and no one else had come to the house. He was really beginning to run out of options, and though he still found it hard to believe, was beginning to wonder if Dennis really WAS just one of him. If that were true, what then? What was Anthony going to do after making that discovery? He had no fuckig idea. As much as he wanted to say screw it and head home, a deeper part of him wouldn't allow it. Kindred had a sort of 'pack mentality'. Even though they weren't all the same breed of Kindred, each felt an urge to stay close and offer help to those undergoing the change. Frankly it was annoying as hell.
But what really bothered him, was the legnth of the Transformation. It was never a fixed rate. How long the change may take. It could happen within hours...or weeks.
Which meant Anthony may be following the kid for weeks???
Ye fucking haw.

It wasn't long before Dennis' eyelids grew heavy, and he went to sleep after making sure his mom was home to watch over Kate. He changed into a pair of boxer shorts and nothing else, crawling under his cool covers and falling asleep instantly.
----
Dennis woke hours later feeling as if tiny bugs were crawling all over his skin. He didn't wake up slowly - he shot up, his chest heaving with a sheen of sweat on his skin, making it look slick and shiny. What the hell? He could feel his heartbeat in his chest - going like it was trying to escape from his rib cage. He felt jumpy, anxious. Still half-asleep, Dennis raked his fingernails over his arm to try and get rid of the itchy feeling, as if he was shedding his skin. It only took seconds for the itchy feeling to intensify into a severe heat, as if he was being set on fire. With a muted cry of panic, Dennis threw his blanket off and stumbled out of bed. What was happening to him? He wasn't sick - he'd never been sick like this. Feeling like a hazy cloud was filling up his head, Dennis felt the sudden urge to be outside - it was getting hot, suffocatingly so, in his room. He staggered to his door, a keening groan seething from between his clenched jaw. He threw his door open, only pausing to stop it from banging against the wall. With a soft cry, his hands gripping his bare chest as if he could force his heart to slow down, Dennis stumbled downstairs and out the front door. Rae was nowhere in sight - probably with Kate in her room. "Oh, shit." Dennis hissed, staggering and falling on his knees in the cool grass. The cold night air was a shock to his burning skin, making another groan escape from his throat. His panic was only furthering his distressful situation - his heart felt like it might implode and his skin was burning, itching. He felt like someone had dumped fire ants on him while he slept. He needed to get away from the street - anyone would think he was crazy, outside and only wearing boxers. He must look crazy to anyone who could see him. He struggled to his feet, stumbled, nearly fell. He turned, moving at a stumbling jog to the back yard. He felt like screaming, his skin felt like it was peeling off! He broke the tree line, entering the woods. His breathing was ragged, his chest heaving as he stopped dead in his tracks and fell again - his legs were useless now. They felt like jelly, and he felt shaky. The heat intensified in his fingertips, and as he looked down at his hands he swore they began to glow - and then there was a blinding flash as his entire body emitted a bright light, shrinking, elongating, and finally when it faded Dennis was no longer there. Instead, in his place, stood a large Jaguar - glossy golden fur lit up by moonlight, black spots covering his body. The tail flicked back in forth as the Jaguar let out a confused grunt. Dennis was hardly aware of what had happened until he looked down and saw paws, touching the ground - huge paws. With a startled hiss, Dennis suddenly shot back, as if his own body startled him. What the actual fuck? Dennis tried to shout, but it came out in a muted roar. This had to be a nightmare - what else could explain this? Dennis turned around, round ears flicking at every soft sound the woods made. His eyesight was intense, allowing him to see the infinite details of the ridges in the tree bark. He gave another confused, startled growl and stumbled on his four legs, unsure of how to move with all four limbs on the ground. He tripped over his paws and went down, rolling over and sitting up again, staggering to his paws and shifting his head around, trying to wake himself up.

Anthony had fallen aslee. Not exactly in his plans, but after sitting hour after mind numbingly boring hour, he hadn't really been able to keep his heavy eyelids from finally shutting. It was a jolt of electricity bombarding him, though, that jerked him back into consciousness. Jerking instantly to four legs and shaking his head to clear the sudden haziness covering his mind, Anthony quickly shifted back to his human form, stumbling backward against a tree trunk and sucking in deep, gaspid breathes. A scent was in the air, so strong that it nearly choked him, and so familiar he knew it instantly.
He had smelled the same scent when he had transformed the first time. Jerking his gaze up and wiping the sweat tha was suddenly covering his brow, Anthony's eyes shot wide when he saw Dennis stumbling towards him from his hard. The boy was nude except for his boxers, and even from this distance Anthony could see the bright sheen of sweat covering him.
It was true. It was really him. He was a Kindred.
Half dazed himself from shock, Anthony kept pace with Dennis, following along the treeline, stopping as the boy finally stumbled under the canopy of tree, dropping to all fours. Anthony drew closer in silence, the electricity in the air making the hair on his arms stand on end and his heart thumb loudly. The first change was always so....intense. It affected any who were witness to it, and Anthony felt the irrestible urge to shift to his wolf form.
He couldn't believe it. Dennis was Kindred. His father had to be, then. Anthony hadn't seen a man enter the house, though. Wondering what breed the man was, what breed Dennis was, Anthony lowered himself to a crouch, staring intently.
Finally the blinding white light of the change glowed from beneath Dennis' skin, and Anthony vaguely saw his shape change, until when the light had next subsided, a beautiful, sleek jaguar stood before him.
Anthony was more than a little shocked. No fucking way. The emo kid is a jaguar?! Anthony would have never guessed it. The fact that he was a Feline Kindred wasn't so shocking, and Anthony could actually see that in the boy, but that his first change had been into an animal so magnifience?
A Kindred's first change was usually into the animal that most resembled their soul. What did this say about Dennis' soul?
Sensing the fear and confusion in him, Anthony finally stood, moving out of the shadows and drawing closer.

Dennis instantly spotted Anthony, his tuned ears catching the boy's footsteps. He stepped back, his ears flattening against his head. He growled, the sound rumbling from deep in his chest. Not that he was angry - he was terrified. He was losing his fucking mind, was what he was feeling at that very moment. He didn't run, though, like his human mind was telling him to do. Did this whole episode have something to do with Anthony? Had the badass turned him into a fucking cat? Dennis felt the fur along his spine rise, anger and fear mixing together. What the hell did you do! He tried to yell, but it came out in a roar again. Dennis cut it off, the sound fading in a low growl as he narrowed his golden eyes - one just a shade darker, the ghost of his natural heterochromia when he was human.

"I know your confused." Anthony drew closer still, weary of Dennis' anger, but not funny fearful of it. He had no doubt the boy could harm him in this form, but he knew that right now his anger was fueled more by fear than an actual urge to attack. "But if you calm your mind you will feel more at ease." Crouching down before the boy, but still a safe distance away, Anthony looked into his eyes. "I just can't believe you are alone for your first transformation. I guess some things can't be helped though."

Dennis moved back, weary about trusting him. His eyes flickered, searching Anthony's face for some hidden intent. His face was clearly angry, but the longer he stared at Anthony the more he seemed to calm down - his whiskers twitching slowed down, and the growl in his throat softened to an almost-purring sound. His ears flicked forward, but he didn't sit down or come any closer. He still didn't fully trust him, had no idea what he was talking about. Transformation? This was something that was supposed to happen? He was supposed to become a fricking cat? He made a grunt-mew of confusion, and then let out a breath that vibrated his whiskers.

Watching him a moment, seeing that he had calmed down slightly, Anthony finally released a sigh of weariness, scrubbing his hand through his hair. "I hope you know how damn frustrated you've had me all day. I never expected there'd be more Kindred in this town. I was counting on it, actually." Groaning Anthony fell back on his ass, drawing one leg up and resting his wrist on it. Cocking his head he looked Dennis up and down. "Have to say, can't believe your a jaguar. Maybe a house cat or something." Flashing a crooked grin he released a yawn. "So, did you ever think it would feel like this? I remember thinking it would be a bit more....all consuming. I used to be scared that I would lose myself in the animal. Not be human any longer....Jeez what the hell I am saying?" Anthony shook his head with a tsk. "I forgot how....close.....you want to be."

Dennis stared at him, trying his best to put on a "what are you talking about" face. The expressions of a Jaguar were limited, however. With a low grunt, he glanced around before sitting down and curling his tail just slightly, letting the tip flick up and down on it's own accord. He'd always wondered why cats do that, but he guessed it was just the tail moving on it's own. Dennis extended his claws, digging them into the earth for a minute. He didn't know what he was doing, what had happened to him. He felt absolutely normal; maybe more powerful, but he didn't feel the burning itch any longer. He growled gently, looking up at Anthony. What was a Kindred? You're insane. Please let this be a dream. He thought, wishing he'd wake up already. Why was Anthony in his dream, anyways? All of this was a bit too surreal.

Dennis blinked, staring back. Say something? At first he started to make a grunting sound, and then he realized that wasn't going to work. What he wanted to do was change back and be normal, wake up in his bed and laugh at all of this. The thought ended with a tingling feeling flaring over his skin, and he looked down to see his paws glowing. Oh, good. The light thing again. He thought, watching the light trail up his body and then turn brighter. He felt rather than watched himself change back. When he was finished the tingling stopped, but the cold bit into his skin immediately - he didn't appear to be sweating and having delusional heat waves, so the cold night air was affecting his practically naked body. He blinked, confused as to why he was outside. His eyes widened, "That was real?" He shouted, looking up at Anthony. "What was that! What just happened? And why are you acting like it's normal?" He narrowed his blue-brown eyes, staggering to his feet - feeling weird that he was back on two legs - and wrapping his arms around his bare chest. "What's a Kindred?" He demanded, not taking his eyes off of Anthony.
