"Sorry. We're full." The huge, bald bouncer covered in tattoos said with a blank stare down at Bas. His beefy arms crossed over his chest.
"Dude...come on I'm just one more person!" Bas cried forlorn. He had been tracking down a singer for WEEKS now, chasing him all over the city, from dark, seedy nightclub to underground coffee shops, and had missed him every. single. time. It was driving him crazy! Word on the street had been about nothing but this new band Sleeping In Silence for weeks now. One thing that Bas loved more than anything was music. What he loved after that was discovering new, amazing bands. So the fact that he had FINALLY found them, and wasn't allowed entry...well, it was nothing short of torture.
"Not gonna happen." Mr. Beefy said, glaring down at Bas in an unblinking stare that made it clear he refused to be swayed.
After staring up at him a long moment Bas finally jerked away with a sharp curse, stomping away from the evil man and back to his car which was parked in the dark lot next to the club, that looked little more than a hole in the wall. It was nearly out in the middle of nowhere, and Bas couldn't help but glance around him as he walked, waiting for some guy with a gun or knife to pop out and demand his wallet.
Pulling his grey wool jacket which was covered in buckles and pockets tighter around his body, Bas slid his cold hands into the pockets and sighed as he approached his car. This sucked. If he didn't catch the band soon then they'd be gone. Moved on to the next city. Suddenly unable to allow the opportunity to pass up, he paused, turning back to look at the building with a soft sigh, white fog flowing from his lips. The bouncer was still standing guard at the entrance, refusing to let anyone in. There was no way then...He'd have to give up.
Just then the sound of metal scraping against concrete hit his ears and he turned to see the back door of the club opening, and a guy rushing out to barf beside the building. Another guy stood, holding the door open, because if it were to shut his friend wouldn't be able to get back in.
"Come on man, hurry up! Their about to play!"
Feeling his blood rush through his veins Bas glanced back to the bouncer, before turning and running to the back of the club. He slowly passed the guy throwing up, shaking his head and turning a grin to his friend.
"One too many?" His friend rolled his eyes in reply and Bas bit the inside of his cheek as he moved forward. "Mind man, I'm on my way back in."
The guy's eyes widened slightly before he nodded and hurried to move out of the way. "Oh yeah, sorry bout that."
Bas tried his best to not release a breath of release as he walked past him. "No problem, man. Hope you feel better!" He called over to the drunk guy, who was still barfing his guts out.
As he entered the dark hallway, he could already feel the sound thump of music in his heart, the sound was so loud. It was a song he knew, that played on the radio all the time, which meant the band hadn't played yet. Yes!
Unable to keep the giddyness from taking hold of him Bas' face broke out into a smile, and his breathing quickened, his chest rising and falling in excitement. Licking his lips he paused at the end of the hallway, where the loud voices of drifted to his ears, and then turned the corner to enter the club.
It was amazing. The walls were painted blood red, the floor was a varnished wood that had been painted black. Bas caught sight of an Iron Maiden sitting in one corner of the room, and a few large, black cages hanging from the ceiling, which had fake skeletons in it. But the coolest thing, perhaps was the ceiling itself. It was made of glass. A gigantic mirror. Releasing an amazed laugh, Bas shook his head and looked to the stage. He could see a few guys setting up, but there were so many people in the room that it was impossible to get a real good look.
Frowning he began to try and make his way closer to the stage, which was near impossible. As he pushed through the crowded bodies he noticed that everyone had on a glow in the dark bracelet. It must have been given to them after they had paid admission. Sticking his hands in his pockets again he hoped that none of the bouncers walking the floor would see him without one.
