"Alice Rowanwood?" The voice shocked the teenage girl sitting on the train bench, and as she turned to find the source of the voice she found herself staring at a tall, gaunt man with dark eyes. He was older, but not old-looking enough to convince her this was her esteemed great Uncle, Albert Rowanwood. "Um, yeah. Sorry." Alice removed the earbud from her ear, simultaneously turning off her loud music. "That's me. Hi." She stood, glancing down at her duffel bag and two large suitcases, the volume of her life packed away in them completely. "I'm Mr. Baxter, private driver of Mr. Rowanwood. I'll be taking you to the Academy." Mr. Baxter said, stooping down to grab her two suitcases. "Um, wait, so I'm not even going to meet...uh, Mr. Rowanwood?" Alice said, rushing to keep up with him under the weight of her large duffel. "He's a very busy man. I'm sure you'll meet him sooner or later. But his orders," At this the man sent Alice a quiet glance over his shoulder, "Were to take you to Belmont Academy. Is that a problem?" No, just that it's pretty damned rude. Alice thought as she stared at the tall man's back. "No, it's fine. So I'm living at this school, right?" "Except for holidays, but yes." Mr. Baxter replied. Once they reached the car, there wasn't any more conversation. Alice was left alone to her thoughts in the back seat, separated from Mr. Baxter by a tinted window. Her parents had never mentioned Albert Rowanwood, but her father had never really been in close contact with his family. Alice knew only that she had some pretty rich relatives, and that this great Uncle was the most wealthy of them all. Belmont Academy was an extravagant school that Alice, a public student, had never even heard of. It had dorm halls, the largest amount of genius students ever recorded, and was full of students that Alice was sure she wouldn't know at all. When they got there, Mr. Baxter all but dumped her into the "good hands" of a preppy, well-endowed blonde woman who claimed to be the executive secretary to the Headmaster. "I'm Mrs. Cavanaugh, and it's wonderful to meet you, Alice." She'd said, shoving a package into Alice's hands. "You can call me Mary. This is your map of the school grounds, the student handbook, and also your room key. I'm sure you want to get tainted with your roommate, so I'll have your bags taken up by the help." "Roommate, right. Thanks...uh, Mary." Alice sighed, pushing a strand of long, dark brown hair behind her ear. The room was vacant of a roommate, but Alice honestly didn't mind. She really wanted to explore the grounds, but only after a good shower. Alice was tall, like her mother, but she had her father's features - dark, forest green eyes and wavy brown hair that never seemed to stop growing. She'd be pretty if she were more fashionable, but Alice was a nerd to the core and didn't mind a pair of jeans and a baggy sweatshirt. She changed into a white sweater over a pair of jeans and shoved her key into her back pocket before heading outside and towards the main sight of the school - the fountain.

Right, dusty black boot tapped up and down as its owner chewed on the earbud strings connecting to the ipod. He tapped out the beat to the favorite lyrics of the day;
~On the day of my birth The ghost of a dead man Walked the earth And my mama don't love me none She hates everything my daddy done~
It was quite gloomy but it was a gloomy day. The sun was overcasted with white fluffy existence but it suited Caleb just fine; he couldn't be out in direct sunlight without being extremely uncomfortable anyway; that or very, very covered up. The man sighed, letting his head fall back between his shoulders with a sharp movement which caused his shoulder length dark brown hair to flop back into the breeze. A few of the dyed black tips got caught on his full, but scarred lips and he blew out a puff of breath to expel the hair from his mouth. His head lifted and his eyes opened into slits; the weird mixture of blue, yellow and silver would normally cause most people to pause. Hence why he was wearing the darkest sunglasses he could possibly find; though they had cost him a pretty penny. He observed the crowd as the children from the school began to gather to start their day. He huffed when a few got too close; overwhelmed by the scent of so many humans. Reaching into his pocket he turned his Ipod up to full blast to drown out the sound of utter bullshit.
After a few more minutes of his silent endurance, he happened to glance up from where his eyes had placed themselves on his boots. His gaze caught on the sight of a young couple practically molesting each other in a corner, causing his mouth to smirk up on one side. His eyes drifted to the next thing that caught his attention and it was of a young girl; seemingly pretty with her long, wavy hair. He licked his lips. 'Dinner isn't too far off' He mused.

Alice pulled out her iPod, plugging an earbud into her ear and leaving the other one open in case any of the students in the main area tried to talk to her. It probably didn't help that she was forever lost in her music, but either way she still blasted her music and ignored the nasty looks she got. She surveyed the area with her dark, green eyes. There were more than a few couples trying to get it on right there, so close to sex that they might as well have been naked. Alice scrunched up her nose, sighing. Most of the girls were wearing pretty, expensive clothes. Alice couldn't help but recount that her entire outfit came from WalMart. "Oh yes, you're going to fit in just fine." Alice said in her best imitation of Mrs. Cavanaugh. Her eyes caught on a man standing by himself, wearing shades even though the sun wasn't out. She stared at him for longer than she thought was comfortable, wondering what his deal was. She didn't know if he was a student or just here relaxing, but she almost felt a bit of a kinship with him when she realized he had earphones in his ears. She felt her lips pull up slightly in a smirk, Perfect. That'll be me in two years. The lone wolf who no one even notices. She thought, going over to the least populated area and sitting down on a bench. She hadn't brought anything with her to do, so instead she turned on a violin mix and leaned back, ignoring the people walking in front of her.

Caleb grinned as he caught her watching him. The glorious thing about sunglasses; they can't see you. He sighed, standing up straighter and leaning his arm on the dark brick wall next to him. The movement caused his jet black trench coat to fall open, revealing the dark, camo green turtleneck he had on. His fingers tapped to the beat of his ipod for a moment before shrugging off of the walls and taking a few steps towards his current meal target.
He silently stalked over and around her to approach her from behind the hideous bench she was on. Seriously. Humans have the worst taste in architecture; take the bench she was sitting on. It was a green, but spray painted black. The bench had been used enough that it was chipping under the girls behind and sending dangerous paint chips into the air where anyone could inhale it. He grinned at himself; why in the world was he caring if anyone got poisoned by paint? He huffed a sigh while he came up the last few steps behind her. He stood to make sure he wasn't in what little sun she had beating down on her white sweater. 'Who wears white when its chilly out?' He wondered sarcastically. He lifted one hand and trailed it across the back of her neck slowly before following the direction of his finger to sit on the side of the bench she wasn't on.
He slung his arm onto the back of the bench, cringing slightly when he heard more paint fall, and positioned his body to point slightly towards to girl; easily almost half a foot taller than she was.

Alice jumped when she felt the touch on the back of her neck, her eyes snapping open and immediately coming out of her music trance. She looked at the man, her hand coming to the back of her neck. He was taller than she was, which she wasn't used to. She herself was pretty tall as it was, but he was obviously taller. She pulled the earbud out of her ear and glanced around before refocusing on the man. "Uh, hey." She greeted, staring at him for a minute. He was probably the most mysterious person near the fountain, since she could guess who everyone else around her was like. It only piqued her interest, however. "Nice weather, right?" She said, her tone hinting on sarcasm. Alice preferred it cold, with as little sunlight as possible. She didn't mind warm weather, but sweating wasn't her favorite thing to do. "I'm Alice."

Caleb raised an eyebrow at her slight rambling. "Hm. Yes, I suppose." He rumbled, his voice sounding rough like he haden't used it in awhile. Which was true. He didn't generally talk much. His body did all his work for him. He noticed he had yet to take out his earbuds and hurriedly took them out. He was pretty sure normal humans couldn't hear over his music to answer a question. He looked away for a few moments in silence. His head turned back towards her, the breeze picking up again. "Caleb." He replied, "Pleasure to meet you." He murdered; but he said it with a tone that was almost sarcastic.
He licked his lips once more before taking off his sunglass; figuring she would find it rude. He glanced around, but not in her direction so she couldn't see his eyes just yet. Didn't want his snack to run away.

Alice picked up on the sarcasm, but figured she couldn't exactly be picky about her friends. Plus, she could get pretty sarcastic herself. She tried to meet his eyes, but he wasn't looking in her direction. "Nice to meet you, too." She replied, putting her own touch of sarcasm into her statement, smiling placidly at him. "Are you a student here?"

Caleb chuckled at her sarcasm, "You sure are a firey thing." He commented softly, before he heard her student comment. He couldn't help it; he let out a full laugh, clutching at his stomach. He finally got himself under control before speaking to her, his eyes on his hands as they played with his earbuds; "You are the first to have ever asked that. Most just assume. Im kind of a student, you could say. I can attend classes if I want to, but I don't have to to stay here." He replied, glancing over at her side before slipping on his sunglasses again. Maybe not dinner. Maybe entertainment.

The short amount of time she got to see his eyes was enough for her to see that they were an unusual color, but he covered them quickly with his sunglasses. Maybe he was embarrassed by his eye color, or something was wrong with his eyes. "Well, I apparently am living here basically full time." She sighed, huffing slightly. She still didn't know who her roommate was going to be, and if she even liked it here. The school was so odd, and completely different from public school. It was almost like college. "So, you don't live on campus?" She asked, already assuming he didn't.

Caleb chuckled, leaning back against the bench. He kicked at the dirt that was already in a shallow dip at his feet. "Funny story. I do live on campus," He replied, glancing over at her, "But I was a late enrollment, so Im in the girls dorm." He stated with a embarrassed chuckle. Although, living in the girls chambers did allow for some easy fun. He cleared his throat quickly. "Anyway, why are you here? I've never seen you before." He stated, sliding one of his ankles onto the knee of the other leg, creating a V with his right leg. He used the knee of his right leg to nudge her side.
He observed her alittle closer now that she was up close. Her hair was in the wild, wavy curls but up close it looked effortless; like her hair naturally fell that way which peaked his interest. He'd love to see her when she just woke up from a fun night. He swallowed at the inappropriate turn of his thoughts. Shaking his head slightly he focused his male mind back onto her. She also had a small dusting of feathers across the bridge of her nose. He made a weird humming noise before his hand moved without permission and brushed across a stray freckle. He choked slightly when he noticed, jerking his hand away. "Whoops. My bad." He commented with a grin that stated he wasn't sorry at all.

Alice raised her brows, "In the girls dorm? Which room?" She asked, wondering how the school could let a guy into the girls dorm like that. She cleared her throat, glancing away from him to collect her thoughts. "Uh...I used to go to public school. But, well, my parents were in an accident and they both died." She said it quickly, with as little emotion as possible. She wasn't really so upset and depressed now, but she used to break down crying at the thought of them. "So now I'm here." She shrugged, smiling slightly and looking back at him. She flinched slightly when he touched her face, her cheeks heating up for a minute. She reached up and brushed her fingers over her cheek, swallowing. "It's alright. I'm not skittish about my personal bubble."

Caleb shrugged, making a swooshing noise from the leather of his trenchcoat. "I'm not sure, I have long sense forgotten the number. Just how to get there." He replied, then listened as she talked about her parents. Afterwards he thought for a minute. "That sucks." He finally concluded, glancing back over at her. "And that is a very good thing. Im a very personal kind of...being." He muttered, grabbing a pack of gum out and opening one before popping it in his mouth. The smell blasted his nostrils and covered her scent, which reminded him of honey suckle. He offered her the pack, "Gum?" He offered, smacking a loud bubble from his piece. "Quit smoking, so this is the only thing that catches my attention anymore." He explained, cracking another bubble.

Alice chuckled, nodding. "It does suck." She agreed, taking a piece of gum from him and putting it in her mouth. She wasn't much of a gum chewer, but she didn't mind the occasional piece. "Smoking, huh? My dad used to say he was a "casual" smoker." She rolled her eyes, "So, how does your roommate feel about being roomed with a guy?"

Caleb shrugged, "I chased the first one off accidently, the second graduated, and the third comes in with this new batch of freshman and new students, so I have no idea." He mused, stroking his chin before his attention was distracted by some loud shouting. It was a few kids greeting their friends and he let out a sigh, his entire body releasing some tension. He stared at them, confused by their nature. He really, really didnt understand humans. So...complex, but so simple at the same time. He pointed to one boy who had shaggy blond hair, a girl attached to his hip, and a circle full of friends. "He would look the exact same as that boy," He commented, before pointg to another blonde boy with a buzz cut, glasses, and his nose stuck in a book, "If he cut his hair. But the nerdy one is so much smarter. Why do humans not go to the smarter; does it make them feel smarter, or is it survival? Do they feel they need to go with humans of the same mental capacity to feel included?" He pondered, more to himself than to her. Actually, he quite forgot she was even in his presence.

For a minute Alice wondered if maybe she was his new roommate, but she didn't think she'd ever get so lucky to be roomed with another loner. Her roommate was probably blonde, with big, fake boobs and clacky heels. She watched him point out the boys, shrugging. "I've never dated an idiot before, but I'm not a genius." She glanced over at him, "I think they probably go with people like them because they're all so in love with themselves, that they like to date people like them." She glanced back at the nerdy boy, then to the other kid. "It's funny, isn't it? They probably either make fun of the nerdy kid or they don't even know he exists. They'll be working at the closest McDonald's or getting trust funds from their rich parents, and he'll be some super famous scientist or writer." She was rambling, which she did quite a lot. In fact, she wanted to go back to her room and unpack right about now. She stood up, shoving her iPod in her pocket. "I've got to unpack and get ready to greet the roommate, so I guess I'll see you later, Caleb?" She said, smiling at him.
