Not too long ago the owner of a pretty popular coffee shop decided to get another shop located on the waterside in an open slot not too far from the beach.
The Windmill on the docks was just as popular as the one in the business district, only there were a lot more teenagers at this one than the one in the city. That made the owner and manager of this one cranky very easily, and scared off a lot more teens and people than the city-cafe.
Jason sat boredly at the counter. It was early, almost seven in the morning, and he was already craving enslavement again. What is it with people asking me so many questions? Do they even care? Many questions came to mind, and made his eyes briefly flash red. Ugh...It's days like this when I wish death would hurry its ass up and kill me. But no. It just takes its sweet fucking time in coming for me, and I can't kill myself. he thought, glaring accidently at a young blonde girl reading a lot of books. He knew her personally, and from connections with Darius, his best friend. Karin was her name. A little bookworm, but he liked her. She didn't seem to avoid him for his peculiar aura.
A loud teenager then walked in, disturbing his thoughts. "Hey there, creepy man! How is going dude?" he asked, speaking in that highly annoying druggy-punk and sarcastic, cocky way. Jason knew this young man as well. Thomas, also known as Jay (how did that come to be his nickname?), was a young man, Karin's age, with dyed blonde hair and always striving for a tan. Muscular in that 'sexy' way, Jason heard. Apparently Jason was that kind of muscular as well. Lucky him. "Everything is fine, Jay. And how are you lately? You're here quite early....Why?" Jason snapped, not liking when late teens came early. It always meant trouble. Of course he was looking for a job. "Yeah...I heard you were hiring for summer, so I thought maybe you'd like me to, you know, like help out or something?" he explained approaching. "No." Jason was firm. Jay took steps back, not whining like usual. That made him smile pleasantly; his aura had gotten to the cocky kid.
Karin stood and left. She always enrolled in summer school for some reason. Jay took her spot and sat there, pouting and throwing out comments of how good of a employee he'd be. Whining now, eh?
Jason ignored him, keeping a watchful eye on his bouncy aura. He needed to keep it calmer, to keep the customers coming. But he'd use it's normal evil, dark, judging feeling to ward off pesky 'know-it-all' teenagers, and flirty ones. Apparently, Jason's naturally silky looking tan skin, ice blue eyes, and dark black hair and sexy muscular body was what young girls, often bimbo-looking ones, craved attention from.

Arden walked to the cafe with a tred stride, looking around nervously, she had been paranoic for quite awhile now. She scratched harshly at the scars on her wrist, it made her shiver when she did so. Ugh, terrible feeling, I don't know why I do it. She thought in a dopey tone to herself.
Walking into te cafe she looked around slowly and then looked at some coffee signs for a few moment efore walking up to the front counter. "Hi... Um can I have a medium cup of black coffee please?" Arden asked as she got money out to buy it. She gently scratched her neck, wrist band almost getting caught on her silver necklace. And her rings almost getting caught in her hair.

Jason looked up once again at the sound of the bells jingling, door opening. Another girl, young looking one, blue hair and pale skin. Wrist bands on her wrists, a popular style it seemed, and several pieces of jewelry.
She wanted a simple black coffee, and he got that. Good. Simple. None of that complex shit that's popular lately. he thought and set the drink in front of her, his eyes and face cold. "3." he stated the cost, and took the money as she paid him. "Have a nice day." And with that gruff statement, he returned to his thoughts.

Arden blinked, "You to." She mumbled, taking her coffee and then taking a seat. She brabbed out some papers from a pocket and a pen as well. Arden's eyes scanned the paper slowly and she began to write down some things in handwriting on it. What an old song... Shot through the heart, god dmaned Bon Jovi, so damned catchy. She thought and smiled slightly, but gave a soft lazy yawn.
She flipped the lined peices ovf paper over and drew a sun, shading it in black and then starting to write words around it.

Jason sat boredly at the counter, glaring into space. The day began to progress slowly, which irritated him. He needed someone to intimidate. Hm...Now who can I bug? Who will get most freaked out....That new blue-haired woman I haven't seen very much, if at all here...How can I? he thought as he silently approached. His footsteps had no sound to them, and his shadow seemed to not be there as he loomed over her. He eyed her papers dully, taking them in for a moment. "Hm...Interesting." he commented. She hadn't looked up when he'd approached, which only made him seem creepy. He knew this because the young man who was sitting behind the blue-haired woman jumped when he heard his voice and mumbled that his inaudible aproach was freaky.

She choked on the air in surprise, eyes widening in sheer terror and her drink almost spilling, she saved it though. Arden looked up slowly and blinked at the guy from the counter earlar and then looked to her paper and blushed slightly. "You frightened me... Geez. Um... Thanks I guess..." She murmered out to the guy and then wrote some more around it quickly to get it out of her head. Arden blinked at him, setting down her coffee now and blinking. "You're very quiet."

Jason smirked at her response, watching the coffee swirl back into place in the small coffee cup. He watched her wrote on the paper quickly and sshuffle them around for a moment. "You're welcome..." he commented on her thanking. The last statement made him chuckle darkly. "Am I?....Hn...I suppose I am rather quiet. The man behind you didn't realize I was here." he replied, smirking a little more sinisterly. The man behind Arden stood and left, getting freaked out by the dark aura that seemed to fill the cafe. A few others left momentarily to seem inconspicious.

"You are very quiet, I didn't even notice you at all..." Arden murmered and watched as people left, a shiver went up her spine and she shivered visably. I wonder where everyones gone to... Um... It's not really one of those exact time thingys or anything... She thought to herself blankly and gave the guy a small smile. "Did you want to sit down or something like that...? Err... Yeah, I think I may have to go..." Arden said slowly with a nervouw laugh, paranoia once again settig in lightly, she scratched her wrists harshly again underneath the bands fabric.

Jason chuckled again, less dark this time. She'd shivered. He'd gotten a response he liked to see from people. "If I need to sit I'll just go away and sit on my stool, which is still quite warm. And if you have to go don't dilly-dally like many of the teens who come in here too often." he stated and walked away with his cold remarks. He sat back down on his warm stool behind the counter, and returned to looking angry and cold, untouchable. He still watched Adren though. She was interesting. Like only 3 other people he knew, she didn't get too nervous or freaked out around him. Jason liked that.

She sighed when he left and stood up, grabbing her papers and then putting them back in her pockets. But she downed her coffee, through the cup away and walked back to the counter. "Can I get another black coffee, please?" Arden asked, she did actually have to go somewhere, it was to a meeting at a place where people just went and relaxed and had counciling done.

Jason looked up at her and nodded, getting her another of the drink she asked for. "Here you are..." he said and took the money once it was handed to him. He smiled a polite smile at her. "Have a nice day, Blue-hair." Jason then frowned and returned to glaring into space, then at Jay as he came up behind blue-hair. "Hey." Jay greeted her.

Arden blinked at her new nickname and smiled at the man, "Yout oo, Coffee-Guy." She replied then turned around and almost bumped into the other guy, she blinked and gave a small smile. "Hello." Arden replied and looked at him and then moved past him with a smile. She waved a slight good bye without looking and left the cafe with a wondering gaze.

Jason watched to door shut and then turned to glare at Jay. "What?" he snapped. "Just wanted a Lotte (sp?)" he replied, flinching slightly. Jason made the drink quickly and handed it to Jay, and watched him go.
The day progressed similar to this manner; glare, snap, tease, prepare, take money, and repeat. Jason seldom smiled and seldom said have a good day through out the day.
Closing time is 8 at night in the summer. Once the coffee shop was closed up, Jason began his slow trudge home. He lived in a cheap apartment not too far from the coffee shop, The Midday Appartment.
Scratching his head, he paused at a fast food place. "Hn....I don't feel like cooking today." he muttered and went inside to order his cheap, greasy meal. After eating, he walked to the park and sat on a bench and glared at the lake in front of him. Nearby a couple was making out, and the girl was giggling. He eavesdropped and took on a disgusted appearance at the young man's request, and the girl's compliance. "Disgusting. I understand that that is pleasurable, but why would a girl even think of complying to something like that?" he wondered aloud, shutting his eyes and relaxing under the dimming sky and slowly appearing stars and moon.

Arden walked to wards her apartment, she was far away from it and had been having meeting as body therapy all day. She sighed sto heself, she had also had to explain about why her scars were getting so read and scratched up. Looking up she saw that she was near the park and then stopped. She sniffed, the guy from the cafe was there.
She grinned slightly and then listened to him mutter to himself about a couple, she aklmost laughed but stayed quiet. Walking over behind the bench she cocked her head to the side. "Nice night isn't it?"
