Mark never met Alexis. He left her mother when their one-night stand was over. Alexis's 'father' was a Lou Johnson.
Alexis's mother and father both were abusive in many ways. Until she was 12, she suffered from physical, emotional, mental, sexual, and other various abuses. She was tortured a lot as a child, and never had friends. Any she did have mysteriously disappeared.
At 12, Lou found out that Alexis had something special about her, and that she was not his biological kid. He sold her to some 'slayers' (she discovered later that these were just crazed fans in some torture group). He raped her, then they took her. For the next three years she suffered all sorts of tortures and abuses and odd experiments.
At 15, she managed to slipped out long enough to phone two people. THe police, and a vampire who had nearly busted her out two years earlier; Zack. Zack ended up coming with the police to get her, and is now her legal guardian. THe story was all over the news, and is still sometimes on when they decide to check up on her and the other 10 that survived. She and a few others did a dateline episode so that they would not bother the younger ones and spoil their chances at a more normal life than the older ones had a chance at.
Possible outcomes: she might become an assassin, she might have some super-rare ability, she might be still recovering, or she might be on the run from some of the escaped men who hurt her. Many of them were not executed, but jailed.
