Reflecting on what he'd said, she wondered curiously why he had no problem telling her that he'd been a slave, but was unwilling to explain to her how he'd come to be free. "And what's the difference between humans and people, I mean aren't they the same?" she asked, curious as to his reasoning.

"Not in my eyes. A human feels, has thoughts...It's alive, and people...They're just a mass of uncaringness. I mean- if you got hurt, who is more likely to respond to your pain, a single human, or a mass of people?" he asked her, meeting her eyes. "Biologically, they're the same, I suppose."

Realizing there was much truth in the words he spoke, she for once agreed with something he'd said. "I suppose your right." she said, unsure of exactly how to respond to this new found wisdom. After a moment of silence, she said, speaking softly, "It was really sweet how nice you were to your sister and neice. I can admire that." Shifting in her seat, she added, "Your sister Lilly, she told me how she managed to escape from slavery. Why won't you tell me how you came to be free?"

"I escaped much differently than she did, though it was around the same time..." he answered, shifting a bit. "WHy'd you chose the whip?"

"It has sentimetal value." she said, responding to his question in the same criptic manner he had to hers. "How about you give me a real answer to my question and I'll give you a real answer to yours."

"Which question would that be?" he asked, though he knew which one it was.
((It was...Well, it was. I saw Mandy, from English/Psych there today.))

Sighing, she reminded him, "How exactly you won your freedom?"

Jason grinded his teeth down, but complied. "Fine. Deal."

"Ok." she said, folding her hands in front of her. "You first, I asked the question first so I get my answer first."

He grinded his teeth and stared at her, and in a cold, blunt voice, told her, "I died."

"What do you mean, you died." she said, looking at him confusedly. "You sitting here talking to me contradicts that statement alone."

He gently pulled her hand up to his neck, then his chest, and both had no pulse. His skin was cold, deathly cold. "I'm still training..." he drifted off. "To be a reaper. I died. And a reaper found my soul and offered me something like this life...You answer my question now. Why did you chose the whip?"

Her face turned white as she realized the horrible fate he'd been sealed in. "I'm sorry...." she said, compassion in her words. After a moment of silence, she maintained her part of the deal, providing him with an answer. "It's the weapon my parent's were killed with." she whispered, voice barely audible.

He stared at her. "Were you a slave too?" he asked, curious.
