((back! =D))
Lilly stared at him. "I was born to my first Master, Master Wilhem, twenty years ago. My parents died when I was...seven or eight, one hung and one of pneumonia. At nine I was sold into the pre-slave prostitution business which took me all over the island to...to..." She had to think of the word. "Children-sexers. (Pedophiles). At twelve, I was sold to my next master, Master James the Third, who in turn prostituted me to his friends and any eager, well paying buyers, and one of them was repetively a spy for the Liberation. He never touched me, but he'd buy me so I'd have a night to actually sleep every so often..." Lilly drifted off. "When I was sixteen I was sold to my third master and first mistress, Master and Mistress Samson. I was the master's new mistress, and the mistress's cook, maid, and bather. This went on for...two years, then finally I was sold to where the Liberation saved me, the slave-brothel, which is where overused, deformed slaves end up once they've reached there peak. I was there for less than two years." She finished her story and stared at him for his reaction.

Swallowing, he looked her in the eyes the whole time throughout the story. He wondered how she could stay so unemotional- so calm, sharring her horrific past with a total stranger. After a moment of silence, he said, "So how do you deal with that- transitioning from a past like yours to living normally amongst a society free of slaves?"

"Slowly. I still use slave-logic, and you've probably noticed how slow I am with language," she said, smiling. "I don't know a lot of words...I have to go to school on the weekends to understand things..." Lilly finished her water and leaned back. "So tell me about you now. Your name is Leon, right?"

"Yeah." he said, thinking the subject of him really wasn't a good topic. "Lets see, well, I've been working for this company for about 5 years. It's kind-of a family business of sorts. I have one brother named Kreon and he runs the head of the business. My life's pretty boring, to tell you the truth. Generic upbringing, simple life." he said, shrugging.

"Generic?" she repeated, confused. "What do you mean by that?" Lilly's 'generic' upbringing was normal for where she had grown up at, but compared to normal children, it was very traumatic. She pulled her hair back up into its respective pony-tail.

Sighing, he took a moment to compose his thoughts before responding. "I was raised by two parents, went throught the normal motions and stages of growing up, got decent grades in school and went to college until I started working here. Very boring." he said, regretting having to lie to her this early in their relationship.

"Oh," she said and scratched her head. She glanced at his plate, wondering if he was going to finish eating. Lilly wasn't sure what to say to him now. His life had been 'normal' by all standards, hers had been aweful until recently...They both didn't know each other very well, and both worked in the same place for different wages. When the waitress returned, she asked for a refill of water and drank it once she got it. She drank a lot of water.

Clearing his throat, he said, "So, do you like your job?" He hadn't meant to make things awkward, but then again, he had never minded awkward silences like most others did.

Lilly smiled widely, her eyes lighting up. "Yes. I'm very happy I have a paying job now." Gratiousness rang throughout her tone and features.

Sighing, he commended her for her modesty, although he wished she actually understood what he was saying. "No...I mean, would you rather have a different job if you had the option?"

"I don't know...What other jobs would I be offered?" she asked. "The liberation only offered so much..."

"Well....." he said, clearing his throat. "I was wondering if you'd like to come and work for me. The pay would be better and I'd give you a place to stay in my mansion. You'd cook and clean, but you'd also get other things like an allowance for personal interests and things like clothes and food and a pet." he said, smiling at the end. In truth, he really did need a housekeeper his house was a wreck. However, if it had been anyone else, he wouldn't have extended an invitation for them to live in his mansion.

Lilly tilted her head to the side. "You want me to be your housekeeper?" she asked, slightly confused. Where the hell did she work for him to live in a mansion, and how come her pay wasn't higher? "I mean, I'm not saying no, it's just...where do I work exactly?"

"You would work in the mansion. Clean a few rooms a day, cook meals. Simple stuff, not too complcated. How much are you paid per hour now?" he asked, wondering what a lot of money was to her.

"Uh...Minimum wage, but I mean, where do I work at as a janitor that you're paid enough to own a mansion?" she asked.
