The youngish boys startled me so bad I almost had another shift blip, and that was before they messed with the hall floor. we ran in the room, and I heard Florence slam the door. "I thought y'all were water elementalists?!" I half asked-half complained, looking around the room. It was a cute room. Or I thought so, anyways. ((My stupid "o" key is jammed!!!!!!! Mmm, yk?))

"i'm the only one actually. It's kind of rare to have water any wahy. They thought it had gone exstinct. Oh, also, your voice sounds like a boys." I said.

I cleared my throat and tried again. "Is that better?" I asked in a falssetto. "And yes, being a shifter is weird. Every time you assume a new form, people think you're a different person, so you have to remember all your different identities. Then, say you know somebody, but they only know you in your other form, and you're already with other people, who know you in your current form... It's hard to make appearances. Very stressful, and, well, you saw what happens when I get stressed earlier." I frowned. "So if you're water and they ain't, what element is your family?"

"Earth, we don't blend together very well. We have a bit of a muddy relationship." I said, giggling at my joke. "Why don't you use a common name like Tyler or Jessie. They fit with girls and boys, and you can use them more often."

"Heh, muddy relationship... Nice pun. And as for the name..." I blushed. "I get them from radio commercials. We have a radio that Jim and I share under the bridge. You know Roland Simani, the Gold and Salami guy from those stupid Mexway commercials?" I asked, looking back at her.

"No." I said. "Hey, you want to go down to the river?" I asked.

"Well, that's where I got my name for school. Jim and I thought it was the worst commercial we'd ever heard." I thought about her question. "Ehh... I don't do water well... I'm not very coordinated, due to my shifting difficulties... But I could give it a shot." I stood up and stumbled forward slightly. Note to self: Next time you shift to a girl, don't be so well-endowed, I thought, grimacing inwardly. "Hey, maybe the swim team star could teach me something," I said, winking at her. Then I remembered I was a girl, so maybe a wink was not so suave. I did a mental facepalm.

"Yeah, I could." I said, getting into my swim suit. "Here's a boy's suit." I said, tossing it at him.

"Oh, I don't need it," I said, already feeling my body shifting. "You didn't notice? My clothes shift with me. They're made of a special material." I finished shifting. I looked like this thing I saw in a movie once. It seemed like a good swimmer. My clothes changed to a pair of skin-tight shorts. "See? Tada." Shifting back to the girl, something occurred to me. "...Why do you have a pair of boy shorts in your room...?"

((That's from Hell Boy!))
"I have brother's and a mom who isn't good at sorting clothes." I said. "Come on already." I said, walking out the back porch and down to the river. I Dove into the water right away, feeling great.

((I know! ^^))
Well that's no fun... I was hoping those shorts were somebody else's... I thought to myself as I stumbled down to the river. I could see Flo was already in the water and at ease. The ripples were a bit odd, and I figured she was messing with the currents. "Will anybody see us?" I called out to her. I'd prefer to keep my shifting nature a secret...

"Yep. This is private territory, protected my charms." I said. "You gonna go or not?" I asked.

((Sorry, bad internet))
"Yeah, I'm comin'." I shifted to that blue guy and waded in. "Eh... Could you come and help me? I can't swim... I don't know how..."

"K" I said, swimming over to him. "Ok, so you pull your arms like this." I said, helping him to pull the water. "And kick like this." I said, showing him how it was done. "You see?" I asked.

"Yeah," I said, unsure of myself, "I think..." I got underwater and did what she had said, and soon found myself propelled clear across the river. "Ohmigod!" I screamed, jumping out of the water. "That was... exhilarating!!!"
