Caryssa stared at them when she could, confused and terrified. "What's R-" She didn't finished, she started to cough again, the coughs getting worse. Red Cold took about a week before it killed a supernatural. When she heard Aynon's words and felt his presence against hers, she started to cry as she coughed. After a few moments, the coughing stopped and she was panting and shivering. She was still crying, and her ears had started to bleed a little. "I'm scared," she said, but her voice was so low and shaky it was hard to make out.
Stephen watched from the hallway, eyes wide. "Hey, uh,..." She looked at Colby, who was assuring Hayven she was fine, and that they'd got to help immediately at the first sign of a sneeze. Colby looked at Stephen, and she paled. "Oh, we may have to go anyways. Red Cold is easy to catch if you're human. I'm shocked Caryssa even caught it." Now Stephen paled. They were all at risk of infection. "Fabulous..." She groaned and went downstairs to avoid infection as much as possible.

"You will be okay." Aynon promised her, knowing everything that had happened to her had been his fault. "I will do whatever it takes to make you healthy again." Aynon said, the tone of his voice masking a chilling promise that Damon, who had been standing in the doorway, could only mean one thing. Cursing under his breath, Damon closed his eyes, knowing that it eventually would come to this. Remembering that Stephen had been human, he went to make the final arrangements with his brother as Hayven ushered Colby downstairs.

((don't kill him! *sobs* i'll cry, i swear I will! >( ))
Caryssa nodded. She believed him. Then she blacked out.

Easing her back onto the bed, Aynon gently laid her down and covered her with blankets before quickly moving to Damon's side. "Take them to Victor's. It should be safe there...." Aynon said, his voice for once gentle instead of demanding. "I can't see the others again, or tell Hayven goodbye, it's too much exposure after me having just held her in my arms, and with Colby being pregnant and all....." "I understand..." Damon said, clapping Aynon on the shoulder. Aynon was quiet for a minute before roughly hugging his brother. "Good'bye. Take care of them for me, and when Caryssa is well enough to come back, take care of her." "I promise." Damon reassured him, not wanting his brother to have any more to worry about than he already did. "I'll send Nicholas up...." Damon hesitated, not wanting to leave because he knew this was most likely the last time he'd ever see Aynon again. Fighting back the emotinos he knew would only make saying goodbye worse, Damon forced himself to go down the stairs without looking back. Taking the stairs two at a time, Damon moved to his brothers side. "Hayven....we have to leave." Hayven's eyes grew wet in acknowledgement as he turned to Colby and led her out to the hummer. Grabbing Nicholas roughly by the collar, he pushed the man up the stairs. "You belong with him, remember. You wouldn't want to disobey your duties." "But....she has the-" "Oh, shut the fuck up and get your pathetic as up those stairs." Damon yelled at the man, scaring him into obedience. Once it was just him and Stephen, he turned to her, "We have to leave, before we catch the cold...." He stopped himself from saying any more, knowing that if he did his voice might crack and reveal the pain his face was masking.

Colby followed him out. "What about Caryssa and Aynon and that elf?" she asked, getting upset very quickly that they were leaving without them. Stephen nodded and walked outside and got into the hummer with the others, listening to Colby getting more upset each second. She too wondered what was about to happen.

"Love..." he said, barely able to talk at this point. "We have to leave them...." he said, his voice uncharacteristically tight and strained. "We can't stay....you'll get sick...." he said, turning to her and kissing her gently. Cradling her face in his hand, he said, "You will see Caryssa again, I promise you...Aynon wouldn't let anything ever happen to her." Damon rolled his eyes at Colby's reaction, wanting to yell at her to shut up but knowing it would just upset Hayven more if he did. They were losing a brother they'd lived with basically their whole lives, she was losing a friend she'd barely associated with. If they could stomach it, so could she.

"What about Aynon?" she asked, crying. As much as she wanted to knaw at his legs and snap at him for making so many rules, she was attatched the guy. "Will I see him again too?" He'd only said she'd see Caryssa again...Stephen glanced at Damon, also wondering the same thing.

"Aww, shut the fuck up!' Damon said, glaring at Colby. In a split second, Hayven was out of his seat, pulling Damon out of the car obviously intent on beating the crap out of him. Damon, who was equally angry at this point and had expected as much from his brother, was the one to throw the first punch. The two men let loose, tackling eachother to the ground and letting out all the anger and pain they felt at the sure loss of their brother with each punch. Finally, when both men were too tired to fight and bloodied and brused, they got to their feet, a silent understanding between them as they got back into the car. However, as Damon sat in the drivers seat, he couldn't bring himself to push down on the gas. "We can't just leave him to...." Hayven was silent as he nodded his head in agreement. Turning to Colby in his seat, Hayven had a look on his face that he'd never had before- both foreboding and apologizing. "I have to go with him, Colby. And you can't come...its too dangerous." he said, a sad look on his face. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out an expensive looking velvet box that could only hold one thing- a ring. "I was going to give it to you when we went down to the city, but....."

Colby stared at Damon in anger, shock, and hurt. But Hayven was taking care of it. Both she and Stephen watched with appalled expressions as they fought until their energy was gone. When they got back inside, they both had these awful expressions on their faces. Colby stared at his face, not understanding quite yet until he said she couldn't come. She stared at the little velvet box and started to cry. She held his hand, sobbing softly. "Don't leave me," she whimpered. Stephen was just numb. She glanced at Damon, wishing their relationship had developed more for her to feel comfortable being that vulnerable to him. She assumed things quickly. "We're still leaving, arent' we?" Stephen asked Damon.

"You know I'll never leave you. I'll always come back to you, I promise." Hayven said, wondering if this wouild be the one promise he made to her that he couldn't keep. "I'm comming with Aynon-" "No." Hayven said, cutting his brother off. "You need to stay here, and take care of my girl." He demanded of his brother. "I should be the one to go. I'm stronger than you, and faster. I have a better chance of..." he stopped himself, not wanting to frighten Colby. "You guys have to leave now, before the infection spreads out..." He hugged his brother, clapping him on the shoulder and making him promise to take care of Colby before turning to Colby. "You stay safe, love. I can't have my angel dying on me while I'm away." he said, his eyes treating up as he kissed her hard.

Stephen moved into the back once Hayven was out. Colby was watching him leave, intense pain written on her features. She told him she loved him, and she'd be waiting for him, and he'd better hurry because the babies were probably due in two weeks. She wiped her eyes again, but the hand never left her face- she was sobbing. Stephen held her but offered no condolences- she wouldn't know what to say.

Damon cursed as he pushed down on the gas, watching his brother dissapear from sight in the rear view mirror. It should have been him that stayed behind- Hayven was lighthearted and playful and had a family on the way. He wasn't violent or angry like Damon was...he wasn't a fighter. If he had been stronger, and faster, than maybe...Damon forced himself to focus on getting to Victor's, knowing a car crahs sure as hell wouldn't help the situation.
Hayven watched the car drive away, wondering if it was the last time he would ever see Colby again. Would he ever get to see his children's faces, or hold them in his arms, or figure out if he was any good at the whole parenting thing. Hayven forced himself to return to the house, knowing the longer they took to leave, the longer it would be till he got to see her again.
When Aynon saw Hayven walk back into the house after hearing the car drive off, he knew it could only mean one thing. "Hayven, god damn it!" Aynon yelled, happy that he was going to see his brother again but sad about what it might mean for him. Embracing his brother, he took only a moment to welcome him before getting back to gathering the supplies he knew they would need for the trip. "Watch him." Aynon demanded to Hayven, pointing at Nicholas. "If he tries to escape, you know what to do." Hayven nodded, sitting down a few feet from the man as his thoughts went back to Colby.

Colby kept crying and crying. Stephen had never seen someone cry so much. She started looking around for something that would knock her out, not wanting to watch the poor to-be mother. She looked at Damon, feeling feeble and sad. She rubbed the preggo's back, and hummed the only tunes she knew to be soothing until finally, something must have worn out Colby and she fell asleep.

In a hushed voice, Damon turned to Stephen and said, "Thank you.....you did for my brother's lover what I couldn't." he said, his voice for once soft and sincere. He knew that he could take care of Colby's physical means as he had promised his brother, but as far as psycological, it seemed that Stephen was going to be the only one able to tend to that.
Once Aynon had gathered everything he was sure they would need for journey, he instructed Hayven to carry the bags while he gathered Caryssa in his arms, wrapping a blanket around her securely before gently arranging her in what he imagined to be a comfortable position in his arms. "Its time..." he said, turning to his brother and Nicholas. "And you..." he said, his eyes resting upon the elf in a violent manner, "If you try any funny business, I'll snap your neck without a second thought." he promised the elf. Hesitantly, the elf did as he was told. Because Nicholas was the only one who had been to there destination, he was the one to lead the way, followed by Aynon and then Hayven. They marched through the forest in silence under Aynon's instructions, assumedly because he didn't want them to wake Caryssa. The man wore the look of someone aged by the truth, resigned to what he knew to be inevitable. Hayven avoided looking his brother in the eyes, hating what he saw in them. Instead, he focused his gaze on the ground, daydreams of Colby filling his mind.

"I just hummed and rubbed," she said humbly, looking awkward. "...They're probably going to not come back, aren't they?" she asked. She had noticed how...everyone was so somber and serious. It wasn't good news.
