Aveline sat on a hollowed out rum barrell, her hands folded on her lap and her eyes dark as they looked around the area which laid placidly before her. Beside her stood a tall man with long silver hair and a hood over his eyes, he was silently sharpening his odd clawed weaponry. "Any ideas on how we're supposed to get out of this port?" He asked gruffly, not looking at her and speaking under his breath, trying hard not to be heard.
"We could sneak onto one of the ships that plan to dock here over night, or we could steal one, but I doubt we'd be able to control the vessel by ourselves." The woman replied shortly and smoothly, licking her soft lips slowly. "And if we snuck aboard we'd most likely get caught..." Trailing off she sat up straighter, looking at the people that were walking around, mostly sailors, drunks, and prostitutes. "There's got to be a pirate ship coming to get supplies for the night soon, there always is. We'll just wait around here and figure out an idea. We've got plenty of time since the crew will want to get some whores and the Captain will be busy ordering those idiots around or drinking, either one." Aveline smirked slowly and looked at Clavier who was also smirking, she laughed and looked away, becoming silent and stiff again, glaring out in front of her, waiting for easy prey.

The ship made port in the harbor, and his crew went about tying it all down before he dismissed them off to drink, smoke, and buy a whore. Captain Gil Ryins, preferably Captain Gil, stayed on deck on the other hand. He was instructing Lilly and her one child that could work to go out and find the following. Lilly was his best friend, and slave, and in the case of her three-year-old daughter, a biological contributor. He'd been drunk and she was the ship's slave, maid, cook, and prostitute. Any children she had with the men were unintentional.
Gil sighed and looked at the barely nineteen year old slave mother. "Furthermore, if you aren't back by the end of the night, I will sell your daughter!" he threatened, but Lilly kind of snorted and moved away. "You wouldn't sell your own daughter, moron," she retorted and picked up her son, Bryce, and proceeded off the ship to go find the things he requested.
Once Lilly was gone, Gil went into his office/room to look over maps for their next adventure. He was after a very rare treasure, one that could foretell of even greater ones and make a name for himself in history.
Lilly set her son down and got down to his level. "Okay, Bryce, you've got to find the map store, okay? Here are the coins he gave us, buy the maps marked with..." she slowly reitterated the captain's orders, and put it into childlanguage so he'd get it right. He ran off on his own, and she moved on to find the food stores.

"Ah, there she blows." Clavier murmured and straightened up, retracting the claws into his odd gloves and pulling at his clothes. Aveline got off of the barrel and patted her hair down, smoothing it with a soft touch. "I'm going to give the ship a survey, you follow some of the crew members, see what they're doing." The woman said and the man nodded and walked away.
Aveline walked down the dock and stopped along the side of the ship, eyeing it up and down for any sort of faults that it may have had that could slow it down or lower its defenses. She hummed and looked a ltitle, listening closely to see if anyone was on deck. There wasn't. "How lucky." Her voice murmured as she walked up the wooden ramp and onto the deck of the ship, her distressed leather boots paking a soft tapping noise as she walked along the desk, her hand sliding along the rail slowly, expecting it was the an extremely critical eye.
Clavier on the other hand had spotted Lilly and her son, and he had stopped and listened to Lilly talk about maps, which really peeked his intrest. Aveline's going to enjoy this tid bit of information. He thought to himself, smirking cruelly and swaggering away down the dirt road, following Bryce to where ever he was running off too. Maybe he'd be able to get information out of the small child if he tried hard enough.
((I have to go to bed. *frowns* Night, night))

Gil yawned and moved away from his work, rubbing his eyes. He stood and pulled off his jacket, walking out of his room. His boots were louder as he was relaxed and unconcerned about people aboard the ship. He rubbed his eyes. Gil was an extremely handsome hybrid. The werewolf components showed in his hard, tan skin and spikey black hair. He'd added violet highlights a long time ago. His eyes were a fresh fallen snow grey color- extremely light. He was going to find somewhere to smoke his favorite pipe. He froze when he nearly rounded the corner to the deck. He smelled her before he heard her- a woman. A new woman. New recruit? he wondered angrily at the intrusion.
Bryce was the spitting image of his mother- except his eyes were almost blue. His father had long since left the ship, so until recently, it had only been him and his mother. He was tall for a 6 year old, almost passing as nine. He found the map shop and entered, going around and looking for what his mother had told him to look for. His hair bobbed messily with each movement he made with his head as he looked. When he found the four maps Captain Gil wanted, he paid for them and rushed out to return to the ship and then locate his mother. Bryce was half-demon, and half-shifter. His mother was a shifter- she usually shifted into a dog. Bryce liked birds.

She heard him and turned ever so slightly, looking over her shoulder in the direction he was making to appear. Her eyes were narrowed as she thought up a quick excuse as to why she was onboard the ship. When she finally saw him she couldn't help but sigh as she guessed who he was immediately. The captain. Damn. Aveline thought simply and turned completely to face him, at the same time pulling at her clothes a little to make herself more presently, not like she hadn't been already though. "Nice ship." She complimented, her hands placed on her hips with her elbows relaxed and her shoulders bowed back.
Clavier had waited outside of the shop, standing around on the street, every once and a while having to wave away a stray whore that was offering him 'company' for the evening. He finally saw Bryce running out of the store and quickly moved into his way, causing the young boy to run right into him. "Oops, i'm so sorry lad, didn't see you coming." He apologized, faking kindness and concern. "Are you alright?" The man asked and leaned over, holding one of his hands out to the boy.

Gil looked over the attractive girl aboard his ship. He scowled at her presence. "I appreciate your compliments, girl, but I do not see you with any of my men. If you're looking to join the crew, go find one of them and come back. I don't like stray women on my ship- they tend to lead the ship astray," he snapped at her as he approached, footsteps lighter now that he was on guard. He looked her over again, still angry with her presence. "Why are you here?"
Bryce stumbled into the man and let out an 'oof'. He dropped his maps and scurried around to gather them into his arms once more. He ignored the man, mumbling to him apologies despite the fact that it was Clavier's fault. Once his things were gathered again, Bryce risked a glance up at the man to make sure it wasn't someone who'd bust him. If ma was here, she'd know what to do. He bobbed his head in apology before darting around Clavier, completely ignoring the man's comments and concerns.

"Why would I bother going to find one of the crew if i've got the Captain standing directly in front of me?" Aveline took a couple of steps towards him in challenge, smirking tauntingly. "That would be such a waste of time, and I want to join your crew as quickly as possible. I've got experience." She told him, trying hard not to laugh at his aggravation. "Oh, and i've got a colleague that would also like to join, he's experienced in combat and sailing as well. We both recently left the same crew because of... Differences in opinion." The woman informed him, grinning to herself.
The demon sighed heavily and swung his arm back behind him, catching the collar of the boys shirt and pulling him back. Clavier smiled sharply at him, leaning over, dark intent clear on the part of his face that was visible. "Now, I was going to be nice, but you didn't take the bait." He laughed harshly and pulled the boy closer. "But that didn't seem to get me anywhere... So, i'm going to ask you forwardly what you need all of those maps for. And you're going to answer me, or else i'll slit your mother's throat." Clavier whispered to the boy lowly, he had a feeling he'd get answers now.

"Which crew did you recently leave and what opinions differed? I don't want boat-rockers on my ship," he grunted and glared at her. She looked familiar to him. Hm. Gil moved past her, motioning for her to follow as he went to retrieve his pipe. Once he found it, he went to locate his tobacco and matches.
Bryce grunted as he was pulled back. He looked up at the...now very scary man and started to shake. "I-I...M-Capt-Captain Gil said to r-retrieve them, M-mister! My ma-mama told me to get these ones for him!" he answered, voice a hushed wail. "P-please don't hurt my momma! The other men hurt her enough as it is! Please don't..." He begged, crying.

Why does he have to be so nosy, damn it. The woman thought to herself, figuring out a name at the top of her head. "Black Howl crew, not particularly well-known." Aveline lied smoothly, it was one of her many skills. "Clavier and I, we're treasure hunters, that other crew didn't want to go into unchartered areas or the sea, which didn't bode well with the two of us." Half of that wasn't a lie, Aveline and Clavier certainly enjoyed seraching for treasure and going on adventures.
Now he almost felt guilty. Almost being the key word. "Alright, good answer, now just a question or two more and your momma will stay nice and safe." Clavier promised sincerely, his voice was still threatening though. "What sort of things does Captain Gil and his crew do? Do they go and seach for treasure?" He asked, feeling excited and impatient, his hand still tightly gripped Bryce's shirt collar.

Gil looked at her, looking mildly unbelieving of her. "Black Howl Crew, huh? Heard there was a captain change there- some sort of mutiny. Were you part of that?" He happened to know about this crew. "Or was that the Black Scowl crew?" he asked, unsure now. "And we hunt treasure and such, yada yada," he informed her. "Whenever this Clavier guy gets back, I'll tell you whether or not I want you on my ship, woman..." And then he did something peculiar. He lit a match, then blew it out, then lit another one, and blew it out, and then lit one last one, lit his pipe, and then blew it out. "If he seems...worthy, like you appear to be, then you can stay...Just beware, my men only get one woman year round and might go...pinching," he cautioned. There were two females on the ship- both of which were slaves, and one was a toddler. He could hear the damn tot crying below deck.
"Captain Gil and his crew sail the seas and fight monsters and get treasure!" he answered immediately. "At least, that's what momma tells me!" Bryce seldom got let off the ship, and from what he saw, it seemed like all they did was sail and drink and hurt, and repeat. But Lilly said they did find treasure sometimes- if they got there first.

Aveline could've hit him for not beliving her, but she stayed relaxed, simply smirking. Her eyebrow raised at his match lighting, but she said nothing and instead made a mental note of it. "A mutiny? No. I haven't heard anythig about that. The last time I heard any news about them was over a month ago." She hoped Clavier would get there soon, she didn't want to wait around by herself with this man for long. Her eyes snapped down to the deck, she could faintly hearing crying, she looked back up at him. "I assure you that he's worthy, and i'm very sure I won't have to worry about any wandering hands on my person." Aveline replied and stood silently, unable to stop listening to the child crying. "What's your name, Captain?"
"You've been a good boy, protecting your momma." He said, releasing his shirt and patting him on the head, he straightened up, he didn't seem so mean anymore, instead relaxed and happy. "Don't tell anyone what happened here." Clavier instructed and let out a breath. "You'll most likely me see me on the ship, but don't act like you know me, I want this to be a secret." A laugh escaped his pale lips and he started walking in the direction of the docks.

"And here I thought you'd heard of me," he muttered offhandedly and took in three breaths of his pipe. (Don't know lingo for pipes). "I'm Gil. And you are...?" He couldn't recall her saying her name. "And a Clavier will be showing up soon?" Gil inquired, looking her over again and shrugged. He heard the child crying below and wished her mother would return to shut her up. He didn't like being alone with his child- it made him repent for his sins, and he hated feeling guilty.
Bryce watched him go towards the docks before rushing after him to go put the maps on deck. He ran ahead of the man like he didn't know him and rushed up the walk and onto the deck. He saw Captain Gil talking to a lady- perhaps a whore- and set the maps down on a barrel before running off to go find his mother...Who was also returning with a few other shipmates to bring the fresh food on board. She told them where to set it down before going to her son and picking him up, kissing his forhead. "You sister is crying," she mumbled, frowning worriedly. "Why don't you go take care of her while I get the rest done, okay, Bryce?" she murmured and kissed his cheeks. He nodded as he was set down, and raced below deck. Lilly headed off the ship once more to finish the shopping.

She held in a snort and a roll of her eyes, she didn't go around memorizing the names of Captains that she had never met before. "My name is Aveline." Her sentence was kept short, she looked over as the boy ran up onto the deck, she watched him move around curiously and looked at Gil again. "He'll be here soon." As soon as the words were out of her lips she heard heavy foot steps coming up the ramp. "Sorry I took so long, Aveline. It took me a little longer to find what I wanted then I thought it would." Clavier said as he passed Lilly, he had given her one quick look over and that was all before his interest was turned to Gil. "Hello, i'm Clavier." He introduced himself and stood along side Aveline. The woman looked at him lazily, giving a grin, "I was just telling Captain Gil that you and I had recently left the Black Howl crew because of our differences in opinion. He may allow us to join his crew if we're skilled enough." Aveline rubbed the side of her throat a little and Clavier nodded his head. "Do I need to do a test to show i'm skilled or something like that?"

Gil shook his head. "Nah, I'll toss you both over if I don't like you. I just wanted to make sure you weren't puny," he answered and turned towards his office. "Lilly will show you your beds when she gets back, or you can track down her oldest brat," he informed them as he headed towards his office with leisure again. He was humming some old tune- old old for him. He smoked as he hummed, and then finally disappeared into his office.
Lilly returned an hour later with the rest of the shopping down. She had gotten a bunch of new foods, drinks, clothes, and other necessities. She was now going to move the stuff below deck to storage. Bryce appeared on deck with a little girl who looked like the captain if the captain was 3 and female. Bryce walked over and spoke quietly with his mother- they spoke in a different language since the conversation was private.

The two friends looked at one another after Gil left, grinning at each other ecstatically. "Let's go get our things." Clavier suggested and started walkign away, the woman followed at a quick pace ad the both of them left, walking back into the port city to go to the inn that they had been staying at to grab their belongings.
They returned a while after Lilly and spotted her. "Excuse me, are you Lilly?" Aveline called sweetly once she saw the two children, she had a soft spot for them. Clavier saw Bryce and gave a wicked smile to the boy while his mother wasn't looking. The female that walked next to him elbowed him in the ribs. "Be good." She hissed under her breath, her friend just grumbled back, annoyed.
