He same to the door again, this time only in a pair of pants, he slide the door open at the middle and looked at her. "Melody, how are you?" He asked before he started to push the sliding door open further so that the entire doorway would be exposed, it was a ten foot wide doorway. Jareth felt like keeping everything open again that day to feel a breeze, since it got pretty hot in his home.

Melody's eyes dropped for a moment, she flushed, and then looked at her feet. "Oh, I'm great, and yourself?" she answered, looking up at his eyes finally and forcing herself to look there. "I brought some sweet buns..." She offered, extending the basket out to show him.

"Come inside." He said, pulling her in by wrapping an arm around her waist, he looked at basket and then away again, leading her to the seating area. "I'm feeling quite well, thank you." Jareth replied and took in a deep breath, the sweet buns smelt good, so did Melody.

Melody felt her face light up when he put his arm around her waist. "Thanks," she said to the come inside and walked in, face red. The arm closed to his chest got one feel of his skin, and damnit, she was on cloud nine. She looked down at her sweet buns, then glanced back up at his handsome face. "What have you been up to?" she asked.

Jareth allowed her to sit down first before he took a seat next to her, one leg crossing over and the other, he laid his arms over the back of the couch, one of them going around Melody as he did so. "Mm, business mostly, lot's of work, I have to talk to a lot of people in high society, keep connections and what not, that's fairly my job." He explained, head resting back but his eyes on her. "Having a good time visiting with your relatives?"

Melody sat down and put the buns down somewhere. She leaned back but bolted slightly when she realized his arm was there. She stared at it for a moment, surprised, but then settled back down and looked up at him. "Sounds like a blast," she mumbled dryly, tone tangling with sarcasm. "Yeah, I'm having a good time. My uncle Gil took me out to this spicy restaurant that just opened. I love spicy food," she told him, grinning. She was quiet after a moment, then asked, "What kind of food do you like? I'll bring it next time. You know you can come to my house too if you wanted, I mean, it's not this big and fancy, but it's always warm and homey, and I'm sure my parents would like you, and my siblings..." She rambled and then just shut herself up.

The sarcasm thing pissed him off but he didn't show it, he just stayed calm and listened to her, he slowly nodded his head. When she finished speaking he took in a breath, thinking over her question. "I'm not very good with family sorts of things, Melody, warm and homey isn't exactly my personal preference." Jareth replied and looked up at the ceiling, eyes half-lidded. "I like sweets... And Pineapple, I don't have a favourite dish."

Melody nodded. "Oh, okay," she said and grinned. He liked sweets, so she'd made the right choice in bringing the sweet buns. She looked around, feeling awkward. She knew she wasn't even close to the same class as he was, so she wasn't sure what to talk about without offending him or getting embarrassed herself.

"So what do you do with your time besides eat spicy food, visit relatives, and shop in the market place?" Jareth asked after a moment of silence, he didn't feel awkward about this at all, she was no one important to him, she was beautiful and he wanted to have her, but she wasn't important, work always came first.

Melody thought for a few moments. "I like to dance," she answered with a shrug. "I love when festivals come around cause then I can dance and it wouldn't be weird," she added, blushing a bit but still smiling. "And....I like exploring too...But when I was little I was on a pirate ship, so my mom doesn't like me exploring too much...She doesn't want me to be in that sort of life-style again..." She shrugged. "What about you?"

His eyebrows rose and he looked her over, he moved his face closer and sniffed her, his eyes closing. "You lived on a pirate ship..." Jareth trailed off and studied her once more. "Me? I relax in my spare time, I have no hobbies." He replied, slowly licking his lips, thinking to himself about something.

Melody nodded. "Yeah, um....my uncle Gil? He's ugh...Captain Gilbert? Have you heard of him?" she asked. "Um, we lived there....My mom was a slave before she met my dad, and he's technically my foster dad. Gil's my biological dad....I look a lot like him...Um, but when my mom met my dad, when they decided to settle down, we settled here...I was....I think 8," she answered and shrugged. "What about your parents? Who are they?"

"Mm, so you're mother was a slave on Captain Gil's ship, your mother had you with him, but another man came along and you see that man as your father." Jareth repeated afterwards, seeing if he had gotten that all straight. "My parents are high class people as well, I didn't live with them for long, I lived with my cousin and his parents for a long time before I moved here. Nothing exciting."

Melody nodded at his repetition. He had it right. She tilted her head to the side at his story. It was so short. "Do you have any siblings, or are you an only child?" she asked. She'd guess an only child...He seemed to much like a loner to have siblings. Whereas she had seven of them to keep her busy and entertained. She shifted a bit on the seat, getting comfy beside him. She reached forward and pulled out a bun for herself, and ate silently.

He watched her move around, never looking away from her, but he was polite about his staring, only really looking at her face and sometimes her hands. "I consider my cousin to be a brother to me, but I have no real brothers or sisters." Jareth replied before he grabbed one of the buns and tasted it, "You made these?"
