Emily eventually realized he was still watching her. She packed her things up and left the building- she was uncomfortable with being watched like some lab rat in a maze.

Merle didn't pout when his entertainment left, though he almost felt like it. He was sure he'd run into her again in a different coffee shop on a different day. He finished his drink and left a few minutes later to meet up with a different form of entertainment.

FF- The Next Day
Emily sat inside the same shop drinking the same beverage but she also had a sandwich with her. She ate slowly while she worked on her book, focus causing her to pay no heed to the surroundings.

Merle was flying down the street lazily in his raven form, just trying to waste the day away when he spotted a familiar face through a coffee shop window. Looping around Merle landed on the windowsill nearest to her and cawed loudly at her in an attempt to disturb her.

Emily did look up. She looked at the bird for a few moments, before standing with a piece of her sandwich bread in hand. She walked out of the shop and tossed the bread to the bird before returning to her work.

Merle stared at the bread for a minute before gobbling it up. He turned his attention back to her and cawed again...and again and again just to mess with her.

Emily looked up and stared at the bird with a frown. She tapped the glass, trying to get it to quiet down without banging on the glass. "Shoo bird," she mumbled, glaring at it. "I gave you some food...Go scare children or find some dying guy...or something..."

The bird quieted when she addressed him, head tilting to the side curiously. It gave one last obnoxious call before flying off, only to return a few minutes later as a man. Merle sat across from Emily without a word. He sat there silently, smirking at her.

Emily looked up when someone sat across from her. She stared at him. "..." She shrugged and looked back at her work, ignoring him. She would leave soon anyways, as soon as this chapter was finished.

Merle mentally frowned but his face did not portray it. He wasn't used to being ignored, he was usually the one doing the ignoring. "So what are you writing today?"

"The same thing as yesterday," she answered after a moment. She stopped typing and pressed save and then shut down the computer. "Have a good day," she said dismissively and then headed on out of the store with her things in her bookbag.

"Are you always this boring?" he called out in question as she left. He stood but made no attempt to follow her. Merle didn't want to seem like a complete stalker.

Emily had the door open but looked at him. She nodded once, and then left the shop. Emily wasn't a very social person...Or touchy...She liked her space and she liked her peace. She didn't have many friends, and those who were her friends had pestered her until she accepted they weren't leaving.

Well that was almost helpful. Merle waited about ten minutes before leaving and shifting again. So much for that entertainment. He decided to try and find her again, just to see if she really was as boring as she claimed to be.

Emily was walking down the street. She took a few turns before approaching a poor looking apartment complex. She went to the elevator and took it up to the third floor, and then went to her home. She left the door open though, walking out a few moments later with some damp sheets. She hung them over the railing to let them air dry.
