It took him a while to catch sight of her again and by the time he was able to follow her she disappeared into a slummy apartment buildin. Obviously Merle couldn't follow her inside so he circled the building, hoping to catch a glimpse of her through a window. He cawed in triumph when he spotted her and landed on the railing next to her sheets.

Emily stared at the bird when she returned with a second set of sheets. "...Uh..." she mumbled, examining it. It was the bird from the shop, she was sure. She looked around curiously, wondering if it was a trained bird or something. Shrugged, she set her sheets down and went to get something- returning once more with some sugar cookies. "Here birdie. If you stay quiet, I will give you food, okay?"

The bird cocked its head and eyed the food curiously. Merle found it funny that she expected a bird to understand what she was saying. He stayed quiet though, just like she'd asked.

She kept it held out in her hand, waiting to see if he'd eat it. She smiled a bit like a little girl with a new toy. "Do you prefer bread? I have bread too..." She rambled, wondering how crazy this scene appeared.

The bird hopped closer to her hand then started picking at the cookies with his beak, careful to avoid peaking her hand. The bird appeared to shake its head no at her question and continued eating bits of the cookies.

She grinned wider and left the cookies out for him before going to work on her laundry. She hummed a little to herself. Emily eventually got hot and pulled off her shirt, revealing two very larges breasts in a tank top that barely contained them.

Merle soon abandoned the cookies and hopped around on the railing, trying to get a full view of her apartment. He didn't dare try to fly in, knowing that that would probably freak her out. Besides, the view he got from the railing was nice enough. He shuffled his wings slightly, not liking being ignored.

Her apartment was dismal. It had the necessities, but beyond that, it was rather barren. Plenty of food though- it was clear she liked to cook for a hobby or something. She came back out with a lawn chair and a book and sat back, smiling at him. She had some bread as well now. "You're a weird lil fellow."

He let out a soft call then flew over to the chair, perching by her head. He settled down and looked from the book to her face. He knew he wasn't acting like a normal bird but he didn't care.

emily stiffened at how close the bird was. She tossed the bread away from ehr, hoping it'd get the bird away from her. She didn't know what diseases birds carry.

His gaze followed the bread but returned to her face soon enough. Merle made no attempt to move and closed his eyes as if he was going to go to sleep. He didn't want her stupid bread anyways.

Emily reluctantly got settled with the bird near her head. She read to herself at first, but eventually began to read aloud to the bird.

Merle's eyes opened wide when she started reading to him. She really needed to get some hobby that didn't include reading to wild animals. Merle stayed for story time though he wasn't paying much attention to her words.

Emily eventually set her book down and looked at the sky thoughtfully. Her eyes became half-lidded and she soon was dozing off.

Once she was asleep Merle hopped dow from the chair and flew into her apartment, not daring to shift back incase she was a light sleeper. It really was a pathetic apartment, at least compared to his loft. When he was done he flew back out to the railing to 'watch her sleep' aka stare at her boobs.
