Alexis leaned against the cart and watched as children scurried down each aisle playfully, laughing and knocking things over without regard of anyone. She frowned disapprovingly, and when they got too close to her, she glared at them. They halted and stared at her, then moved on obediently. "I hate kids," she muttered to the blond woman looking through coupons for olives. "Can't you just...grab one and go or something?" Alexis asked, pulling her thick black hair up from its resting spot against her butt into a pony tail that hung just above the flat spot of ass.
Corinne looked over, her blond eyes thoughtful. "I could, but then I wouldn't get ten cents off of the right brands," she said and smiled kindly. "I know you want to get home, but please be patient...I'm sorry you had to come here too..."
Alexis shrugged. "It's fine, Corny...It's probably healthy to deal with these stupid assholes every once in a while..." Corinne nodded and chuckled, and finally grabbed the olives she wanted and set them in the cart. Corinne's car had busted the other day, so Alexis was stuck chauffering her when they had to go shopping or she had to be somewhere early.
Corinne had been living with Alexis for almost a year and a half now. In two weeks, her mother's will would be read to her shortly after the plug keeping her alive was pullled. Alexis would house her until she had a job, and a home. Corinne's mother was in a coma.
Alexis had a very nice apartment- a very expensive one. Her job as a professional assassin paid very well. She wasn't good around people, so to be out in the supermarket with and for Corinne said a lot about her improving tolerance of 'stupid assholes.'
They were in the bakery section now, and Corinne was looking at different bread while Alexis eyeballed the make-up section nearby. I could use some new red nail-polish she thought and scowled. I'll get it when I'm alone.
Corinne hummed absently while she looked at a jalepeno bread she thought would be good to try. It was rather expensive though...Maybe not. Her blond hair bobbed in its wavy pony as she bobbed her head in tune to her tuneless hum. "Do we need more Corona?" She asked suddenly, looking at Alexis. "Tomorrow's your day off after all...Do you need more?"
"I'll get it, Corny, don't worry about me..." Alexis sighed. Corinne cared too much. And worried too much...It bummed Alexis out because she was the worst caretaker in the world. Couldn't clean, couldn't cook, and wasn't chatty or emotionally supportive...Why did her mother like me again? Alexis thought with a smirk and a shrug. THey were the only ones in the bakery area.

As Scyther and Aaroe arounded the corner at the grocery store the both of them were all too familiar with, Syther delivered a swift nudge to Aaroe's side as he spottted the two women in the baker direction. "Hey, A., twelve o'clock man." Motioning with his hands towards the two women, he said, "And damn, I thought this was gonna be a wasted trip." Winking at Aaroe, Scyther cracked a wide grin as he quickened his pace towards the two women. Arroe rolled his eyes as he watched his friend glance at the two girls not-so-subtely as he pretended to case the breads section of the bakery. Standing 5 foot 11, Aaroe was about an inch taller than his friend. He towered above most people, in fact, although that wasn't the thing most people first noticed about him. His eyes were mismatched, one an emerald green and another a sky blue, borderline grey color. He couldn't blame people for staring, it wasn't as if they came across someone with two different colored eyes every day, but it definately made things awkward for him as far as social interaction was concerned. His hair was a dirty blonde, naturally filled with caramel streaks that emphasized the natural waves in his thick head of hair. He had strong bone structure, with a square jaw, chisseled cheekbones, and a proportionate nose. He had broad shoulders and a solid build, muscular enough. Quite contrary to his friend, Scyther eyes were a light grey that were filled with specks of gold, his hair a contrasting dark brown. He had several visible tattos on his arm, and a right eyebrow peircing. He wore a tight fitting black t-shirt, contrasting Aaroe's loose fitting white t and loose blue jeans. Slidding over a little at a time, Scyther waited for the opportune moment, in one fluid movement 'accidentally' bumping into the woman with black hair. "Oh, hey, I'm sorry." Scyther said, flashing her a confident smile. "I didn't hurt you, did I?" he asked, using the excuse to look the woman up and down. "Aww, jesus. You've got to be kidding me." Aaroe mumbled to himself as he watched his friend collide with the woman from across the bakery.

Alexis shot him a dirty look then moved away. OKay, so maybe she wasn't improving. She poked Corinne. "Are you almost done?" she mumbled to her blonde friend. Corinne blinked and glanced at the sudden appearance of men. "Oh, sorry, I'll hurry up," she said quietly and grabbed the cheapest white bread and smiled kindly to Scyther and dropped it in before going to push the loaded cart. Alexis followed quietly, watching the men with cold eyes. Corinne nudged her to behave and she dropped her gaze.

"Oww, I haven't been rejected like that since...well actually never." Scyther said, watching the two women leave thew bakery with a slightly hurt expression on his face. "Well,, we ARE in a bakery." Aaroe said, motioning to the area around them. "Its not like were in a club where people want to be asked out by total strangers." he added, grabbing some bread off the shelf as he contemplated whether or not he should offer the two women an apology. Comming up behind them, he cleared his throat to get their attention, not wanting to invade their personal space after what his friend had just done to the woman. Meanwhile, Scyther had dissapeared into the chip isle, loading up on the junk food for what would undoubtedly be another sleepless night.

Corinne turned and blinked in surprise. "You have lovely eyes," she mumbled then flushed. "I"m sorry, you probably get that a lot- Can I help you?" she asked, smiling. Alexis's cold expression returned, a frown on her face. She took disappeared after getting a more specific list of things from corinne. She walked slowly and stared at the signs. Alexis was on a mission- to find Doritos Nacho Cheese family size bag. SHe halted at the sight of Scyther, twitching uncomfortably before moving down the aisle where she saw rows of Doritos.

Aaroe turned a light shade of red at her words. "Thanks, as do you. Then again, your beautiful, so it would only make sense that your eyes would be-" Aaroe cut himself off, realizing that he had begun flirting with her. "Ah, I'm very sorry, I didn't mean to overstep my boudaires." He said, his voice apologizing. "I just hoped to apologize for my friends actions." he added, a small smile on his lips. She was beautiful, and also seemingly nice- and her voice, it as soft and gentle, yet strong and soothing at the same time. He wished he could follow her around the grocery store and talk to her, just to get to know her. However, he knew that, even by human standards, such actions would be considered abnormal.
As Scyther looked to his right, he caught sight of the hottie he'd been trying to pick up back in the bakery isle. Good thing he didn't have a small ego, or he might have actually taken notice of the 'get the fuck away from me' look she'd shot him when he'd bumped into her back in the bakery. "Hello again." he said, grinning as he glanced over at her. "Again, I'm very sorry for bumping into you. Maybe I could make it up to you, if you'd let me. How's lunch sound?" he asked, sending the same confident smile he advertised earlier her way.

Corinne flushed at his compliments, smiling shyly. "Oh, um, thanks and that's sweet of you. I should explain that she's not exactly normal- she treats all people like that until she's sure of who they are and stuff..." she rambled unecessesarily. "But thank you for the uh small overstep of boundaries and the apology. I'll pass that along to Alexis- my friend." She smiled still, feeling figdity because, like he was thinking, she was thinking how nice it would be to sit and talk to him and get to know him. But that didn't happen in real life- not to her anyways. She got bookworms like her to chat with.
"It sounds damn awful," she answered grumpily as she looked for the Doritos Corinne had down. "Why the fuck does she even need them?" she muttered grouchily to herself as she reached for the right bag, still looking moody and cold. She double-checked and started to leave the aisle, to go find the other thing she'd said to get. I think she thought this'd take me a long time to find... she thought. corinne's other item was just 'cheese.' When she got to the dairy aisle, she stood there and for once looked helpless. "Cheese." She repeated, as if Corinne would appear to help her shop magically.

Not wanting to leave, Aaroe fumbled with his hands for a few minutes, stalling. "So, uh....maybe I'll see you here some other time." he said, a hopeful smile on his face as he backed out of the alley, still facing her. He'd never really had a particular interest in girls, they just hadn't really spiked his interest. IT wasn't that he wasn't attracted to them, because he was- it was just that he had never had an interest in pursuing on of them. However, he found her VERY interesting. As he heard a few footsteps approaching frmo behind, he cursed to himself as his friend Scyther came up behind him, clapping him on the shoulder. "Yo, whats the hold up-" Scyther asked, stopping himself short as he noticed the way Aaroe was looking at the pretty blonde. "Whoa. So you finally hit puberty." Scyther said, chuckling. Turning to the girl, he moved towards her in a few long strides. "So, ah, wadya say. Give my friend ur number." Scyther said, flashing the girl a persuasive smile. "Come on, leave the girl alone." Aaroe said, pulling Scyther away from her while muttering an apology to Corinne.

Corinne smiled. "Yeah, probably," she mumbled, and almost told him the likely days he could find her there. Except his friend came and broke up the awkwardness by making it even more awkward. She grimaced at the man's upfrontedness and grasped her cart. "Um, it was nice talking to you," she said to Aaroe and then started to go find her friend. Finding her at the dairy aisle, she sighed and gave Alexis a break and finished her shopping, her mind on the beautiful odd-eyed boy. Alexis pushed the cart for Corinne, since that was the only job she was capable of doing without trouble.

Glarring at his freind, Aaroe mumbled, "Come on, lets just get the soda for Megean's party and leave." His mood was shot after Scyther had totally embarrassed him in front of the pretty girl and on top of that, he realized that he hadn't even asked the girls name. That meant that if he never saw her again, he couldn't even look her up in the phone book. "Aww, come on. Don't be a buzz kill- there'll be plenty of other girls at the party." Scyther said, grabbing a case of Corona's from the shelf as he made his way to the checkout line. *Not like her* Aaroe thought, his face still aggrivated as he stood behind his friend, his arms crossed.

FF- That evening
Corinne was in the most modest party clothes ever- a slim fitting t-shirt, some regular jeans, and a green hoodie wrapped around her waist. Her make-up was virtually not noticeable due to the fact she used natural colors instead of flamboyant ones. Her hair was slightly curled, and that was it. She smiled at Alexis encouragingly as she led the way to the rooftop party at Megan's apartment.
Alexis was dressed even more conservatively. She wore a baggy black hoodie that covered all her goods, baggy jeans, and boots in case she needed to 'kick the shit out of some drunk asshole.' Her hair was down and cascaded around her protectively and she wore no make up- not that she needed to. she looked like an angel with a vengence streak in her.
They reached the rooftop and Megan- a recently turned vampire 22 year old with blond hair, black highlights, and baby blue eyes and large breasts greeted them. She hugged her tightly and directed them to wear the snacks were, and then left to dance with her lover, Jack the vampire. Corinne found an empty seat to sit on and Alexis went off into the darkest part of the roof to light up a cigarette, something she seldom did, and drink a Corona. Corinne bounced slightly in her seat in tune to the beats on the radios, and sipped a Coke from a cup. She wasn't a huge partier, and Alexis absolutely loathed crowds...Corinne was there to be polite, and Alexis was there to drive Corinne home.

As Scyther and Aaroe pushed there way through the crowd of people dancing and stumbling woozily from, judging by the stench, was no doubtedly a product of the beer they'd been inhaling like air since they arrived. "Hey look, its the two hotties from the grocery store." Scyther said, pointing to Corinne and Alexis. Aaore froze, stopping in mid stride and scanning the horizon until he spotted the blonde haired girl whose name he still wanted to know. "Hey look, "Aaroe said, beginning to head towards Corrine. "I'l catch you later-" "Wait!" Scyther said, grabbing his friend by the arm. "You can't bail on me, not this early. The party's just getting started." "Then come and see if you can win over the other girl." Aaroe said, laughing slightly as he remembered the look on Scyther's face when he had been rejected. "Just as long as you don't talk to-" "Yeah, yeah, yeah. I won't embarass you in front of you kindergarten crush. I guess I'll come along though, I'm always up for a challenge." he said, his eyes latching onto Alexis as the two men made there way through the crowd into the corner the women had taken refuge in.

Corinne spotted Aaroe after a few moment when he got closer, and she brightened up perceptively. "Hi!" She greeted and waved. Alexis saw her moving and followed Corinne's gaze, and scowled and moved more into the dark, slightly irritated. Corinne stood to go greet the guy that she seemed interested in. Alexis took a deep drink and tried to clear her head of angry thoughts- reminding herself that anything unpleasant from her could result in unhappiness from Corinne- who was unhappy enough.

"Hello." Aeroe said, flashing her a wide smile as he crossed the distance between them. "I fogot to ask your name, back at the grocery store." Aeroe said, needing to know. "So, if you would allow me, I would like to ask your name." he said, his eyes locked on hers.
Meanwhile, Scyther was eyeing Alexis, who seemed to be having a horrible time at the party. "Hey Babe, you don't look like your having a very good time. Maybe I could change that." he said, a sugguestive grin spreading across his face as he took a step towards her. "A pretty girl like you could get tons of guys to dance with, why are you here all alone in the corner?" Scyther aske as he cranked his head back and took a swig of the corona he had in his hand.

Corinne flushed at his gentleman-like nature. "I'd be happy to give you my name, if I can have yours," she answered and blushed less. "I'm Corinne. what's your name?" She extended her hand to shake, still smiling. A few guys she knew were watching in surprise- they had eyeballed Corinne but she'd seemed unapproachable due to her constant studying.
Alexis glanced up at him and took a swig of her beer also, and then her gaze moved to Aaroe and Corinne. "I'm here because Corinne wants to be here and she doesn't have a ride home," she answered honestly as she downed the rest of her beer. She kept a hold of the empty bottle in case she needed a weapon.
