Aaroe leaned back in the seat of his car, his mind spinning. He closed his eyes as he let the sensation overcome him and all that he was as he drifted off into a drug induced sleep.
Trent sighed, wishing she'd forgotten about it. "You've had enough sorrow in your life." he whispered to her as he held her. "I don't need to be burdening you with mine." He knew they'd have to talk about it eventually, how else would he explain how his back had magically taken on the texture of shredded cheese. "You must be tired.." he said, looking down at her. "How bout' you go lie down. I'll just hold, you thats it. Just watch over you while you sleep." he promised her as he kissed the top of her forehead amidst the embrace.

Alexis's eyes narrowed. "I'm not tired. I'm staying up until Corinne is safely home. I don't know when that'll be since she's with that boy, so I'm sure you've got all the time in the world to share your story. And dont' worry about me being anymore burdened than I already am." She hadn't told him about how she came to care for Corinne, the guilt she felt for being an inadequate guardian, and the constant worry she felt for the people she actually loved. What was one more load?

Trent nodded, although he still wasn't about to tell her what he'd been through while they'd been apart. "You want me to call Aaroe and tell him to bring her home?" he asked, realizing Corinne was much more important to Alexis than he had originally assumed. He'd do as much as he could to help releave any of the pressure she was under, but he knew alot of that depended on how much she would let him help.

She shook her head. "No, I trust Corinne. I'm sure whatever it is they're doing, she'll be fine," she said, grinning softly but it started to fade. She was being avoided, and she could see that easily. She didn't ask to hear his story again. "I'm going to go check on Harley. Can I get you anything while I'm up?" she asked, standing and stretching.

"No...I should probably leave.." he said, knowing they had already been waiting for him twenty minutes ago at home. "Listen...' he said, taking a peice of paper out of his pocket and writing his number on it. "You need anything, call me. Can I come by tomorrow?" he asked, hoping she wouldn't object to seeing him again.

Alexis nodded. "Of course, come by any time," she said and took the paper, holding it like it was a treasure. She smiled again. "Thank you for...for everything," she said and smiled warmly at him. "I really missed you."

"As did I...." he said, wanting to kiss her, but knowing that after all that she had been through it was probably too early for that. "I'll be back, I promise." he said, hugging her tightly one more time before forcing himself out of the apartment and down the stairs that would lead him back to his car.

The next morning, Alexis sat numb as stared at the phone, pain written on her face. That morning, someone had disturbed her unintentional nap- the lawyer who was in charge of handling everything on Corinne's Mother's will. The reminder of her friend's upcoming death broke her heart. Second thing, after the call, she realized Corinne wasn't home. She asked Harley if anyone had come in, since she was up, and she said no. She'd called everyone she knew, and they were looking for the little blond now. Alexis had searched the hotel and had found nothing. She snuck in and watched the night's camera's, and watched in horror as Corinne was abducted by men she knew from the apartment complex. She wanted nothing more than to tear those two men to shreds, but they weren't home yet. There would be hell to pay.
Harley watched as Alexis fretted. It was depressing to watch. She finished her cereal and went out on their balcony, to get some fresh air.
Corinne was tied and in her underwear- blue bra, pink panties with strawberries on them. She was against a wall, and she saw many others like her- both males and females. She was on a wall labeled $V$. Most of the others were on the side labeled $$$. She wondered what the V stood for, but suspected it meant virgin. She looked at the two other girls with her. One ohter was blond, the other was a beautiful olive girl with green highlights. Not any of the virgins could be older than 20. She felt tears cascade down her cheeks in terror- god only knew where she'd end up.

Aaroe finally gained conscousness the next morning, cursing to himself. He knew he shoud have given himself half the dosage if he had planned on making it home, but he had needed more and more of the shit to have the same affect as it used to lately. Whipping out his phone, he took Corrine's number out of his pocket and dialed, wanting to make sure that she'd made if home safely.
When Trent had arrived home the night before, he had been welcomed by some not-so-happy 'guests' of his. Grumpy at having been made wait half an hour, the men had welcomed him with cold stares and curse words. Once they had gotten down to business, however, the mood had lightened noticably. He had ended the night by crashing on his fouton, awakened that morning by the ring of the alarm. He'd gotten up happy for the first time since he could remember, knowing it was because of his encounter with Alexis the night before. After showering and eating, he'd picked up the phone and called her, hoping it wasn't too early.
Scyther, who'd woken up to the crash of the Corona bottle that had apparently slipped out of his hand the night before, cursed to himself as he made his way around the broken glass. When he'd looked to his right and saw that Aaroe's bed hadn't been slept in, he shurgged as he figured his friend must've gotten some ass from that pretty blond girl and gone back to her place. Cursing, he pulled a peice of broken glass out of his foot, chucking it into the sink as he reached into the fridge and popped open another Corona.

Her cell phone rang from the table where their belongings were. Someone found it and broke it. She watched as they looked at her, scowling angrily, and then walked over. Some buyers had come in directly afterwords. They were vampires, she realized quickly, as they sniffed and sniffed before settling on the virgin section. They sniffed some more, and then she was plucked up and tossed over his shoulder. "We'll take four of the others as well," one vampire said as they carried the sobbing Corinne off to pay for what they were purchasing. "She smells tasty." One other vampire commented and licked her tears away, making her shudder and gag. "We have enough H, right?" The conversation turned to discussing the drugs they had in storage, and the best way to drain the virgin- Corinne. She paled and then was out like a light as they tossed her into a car trunk again- they'd wapped her over the head.
Alexis picked up. "Hello?" she asked, sounding out of breath and terrified. She was pleading this was either Corinne or those who had her. She also hoped it was Trent, because she could use some help at this point. She wanted to go searching for Corinne, and she needed a babysitter...Unfortunately she only knew of Trent and that asshole who hit on her...She inwardly sighed.

Aaroe stretched out as far as he could in his car, dissapointed that Corrine hadn't picked up her phone. Maybe she hadn't been that in to him, or maybe she'd given him a fake phone number. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out the rest of the heroine he had left, which wasn't much, and shot it into him. He knew it'd be just enough to give him the buz he needed to get through the day as he phoned his dealer. "Hey, I need some more heroine."
"Hey." Trent said, a worried from stretching across his face. He could tell by the tone of her voice that something was wrong. Although they'd been apart for a long time, he could still read her like a book. He knew all her tones and smiles, what each look and body movement meant. "Whats wrong?" he asked, hoping it wasn't something too serious bu knowing by the tone of her voice that it must be.

The dealer hummed on the phone while the driver pulled into his home. "Well, come on by now while we still have plenty. We also got a few new items in if you'd like to buy while you can there. One of them is really quite delicious looking." He said and watched as they carried the four regulars to the back and had them chained to beds, while Corinne was taking to a special room and stripped of what remained of her clothes. An iv went into her arm and the end of the iv led into a keg of sorts. The vampire dealer licked his lips. "Oh, and it smells good too...Hurry while it's available...I only have a limited supply of it." He stroked Corinne's hair and waited till Aaroe got off the phone to sample her blood.
"Cor...Corinne got kidnapped," she said softly once she registered who was on the line. "Trent...I have to go help look for her...Could you babysit, or maybe...that...that other guy, the..." She sighed. "You know the one. The one who doesn't take hints."

"Yeah, okay." Aaroe said, hanging up the phone. He didn't bother making small talk with his dealer, and in fact tried to have as little contact with them as possible. He always held off on going back to them till he was down to his last ounce of heroine, wanting to minimize contact. It wasn't as if he enjoyed being on the heroine, in fact he was ashamed of it, as he should be. However, it was the only way he could control it....psycologists had dubbed its schitzophorenia, though in his personal opinion it was a demon living within him. He had tried taking perscription medication, but it hadn't even affected it. When the demon arose within him, it was violent and powerful. He had murdered many years ago because of it, and then attempted to take his own life as a result. Boy, that had gone over well with his parents. His father and mother were already ashamed of his origins- both his parents were of elven decent, yet he was only half elf. His mother had had an affair with a human, producing him- a bastard child. As if that weren't enough of a disgrace to his family, his mismatching eyes were the cherry on top of the sundae. His physical deformity had been the ultimate shame to his family, a testimate that they were somehow biologically inferioir to those who produced health offspring devoid of physical abnormalties. His brother, on the other hand, had come out perfectly health as well as being the child of both his father and mother. He had always been informed of his brothers superiority, even at a young age. When he had turned 18, his parents had demanded that he leave in order to 'spread his wings'. He knew the real reason had been to finally rid themselves of the bruden of the disgrace he brought to the family, and that they wanted nothing more than to pretend as if he'd never existed. His brother, who was now 21, was still living with his parents, and they were more than happy to house him. Shaking away the memories, Aaroe pushed down harder on the gas, wanting to get his meetings with the dealer over with.
"Calm down, Ally. I'll be over in a minute. Just hold tight." he said, keeping her on the line and talking her through her panic as he high tailed it over to her house, picking up an already buzzed Scyther on the way. Once he got to the house, he gathered Ally in a comforting hug. "Don't worry, we'll find her." he promised her, trying to sooth her. "I tried calling Aaroe, but the line was busy. Scyther said Aaroe didn't come home last night either. Maybe the two of them just went to a hotel to have a little fun." he sugguested.

The dealer hung up and halted the draining for the time being. Corinne let out an agonized noise, and then a scream as the vampire helped himself to a vein in her left bosom. She struggled for a few moments until another guy came in and gave her some kind of sedative. The dealer was licking her nipple, and she watched as he sampled from her neck next, then moved off her and left. "We'll drain her once our customer decides what he wants to do with his money." He waited by the door, licking his chops.
"I saw the security camera!" she snapped and pulled away. "She got kidnapped last night- in the parking lot." She was crying, and she wiped her eyes. "I've already got a lot of favors called in to find her, and I need to help to...Can you babysit for me? Harley's really quiet so far...Or do you know someone who can?" she asked, shaking. The two kidnappers were already in jail, having been turned in subtly to not attract the media's attention.

When Aaroe finally arrived at the address his dealer had given him, he eyed the mansion suspiciously. They'd never met here before, and he could smell that the place reeked of fear.....fear and evil. Getting out of the car, he walked up to what appeared to be the enterance to the warehouse, knocking twice.
"Why do you think I brought Scyther." he said, thinking the man was basically nothing more than a walking beer keg, rendering him useless in almost any situation- except this one. "He can watch over the girl until we find Corrine. " he said, motioning for Scyther to stay put while they went and searched for the girl. "This is about the cute blonde, right?" he asked, raising an eyebrow as he took a huge gulp of the corona, letting some of it spill onto his shirt. "Hey, I'm down with whatever as long as I've got some beer with me." Eyeing the two of them suspiciously, Scyther clapped his hand onto his kneww and cracked a wide grin. "Hey, wait a minute. What's up with you two? Are you guys like, a thing? How the hell did you manage to snag this one when I couldn't even win her over? Did you drug her?" he asked, laughing. "No, and its none of your god damn business." Trent snapped, knowing now was not the time for him and Alexis to explain how they new eachother. "Later, okay." he said, knowing damn well he had no intentions of discussing his relationship with Alexis, especially with the likes of Scyther.
