In the meadow one may be able to seclude themselves from the noise and restlessness of the city. They could get away from their annoyances and be peaceful with their partner or family. But then there were people that were alone and lived a deathly silent life, no one to speak with, and no one to love. Nothing. There was a man that lived like this; he was a murderer, a dark monster that didn't care about the feelings of others or what would happen to him or anyone else in the future. He was cold, merciless, foreboding and sadistic. A being that shouldn't have ever have been made.
Killian sat in a chair in his cottage, staring out the window with a dark look, around his eyes were black, his skin was paler then usual and his hair had become paler and withery. He was disgusted with himself, he hadn't been working in weeks it seemed when actually it had only been a couple of days but those couple of days had seemed absolutely horrible it was the worst feeling he had ever had. Killian pitied himself, a deep feeling of remorse and feeling of lowlife in the pit of his stomach. His eyes were glued to the sight of birds on a branch, he wanted to wring their little feathery necks so badly it hurt.
Getting up slowly he walked barefoot to his fridge, his head bent down and his shoulders hunched up. Dark eyes traveled over the contents of the electronic device slowly in a scrutinizing gaze. His hand moved in a pulled out a bottle of orange juice. The fridge was gently closed as he walked to a cupboard, it creaked open and a glass was grabbed from it. Setting it down Killian poured the juice into it. A few moments later half the contents of the glass were gone and the juice was put away.
He leaned against the counter now, glass in hand and body practically trembling. He had been watching outside again to see that one of the birds had dropped dead from something. I made him get the urge to grab another one and give it the same fate but it was rather inhumane to do so. Suddenly his hand clenched so tight on the glass it shattered in his grasp, pieces of glass flying in different directions on the floor along with spurts of crimson blood.
The man dropped the rest of the glass on the ground near his feet and then walked out of the kitchen, some glass cruching loudly under his feet.

Karin had always grown up in the city. She'd been born and raised there. And now...She was moving to this crappy little meadow town where all the houses were shoddy cottages or small houses and the neighbors were half a mile away. Not many cars were around, if not old ones. The city was 2 hours away.
Why the move? Her mother remarried. Valentine, her twin brother, at least came back. Her new father was a werewolf, and explained Val's fear. The meadow was a perfect place to live for them. And it would give 'Karin a chance to make friends that appreciate her.' Yeah, right.
Day one there. The big moving van parked outside the small cottage home was almost comical at the contrast. Karin stepped out of the car and took a breath of fresh air. "Honey, could you ask the neighbor if knows where the grocery store is?" Her mom asked moments after Karin had gotten out. The girl nodded.
Karin had recently dyed her hair a dark brown. It brought out her natural green eye color that usually looked brown, and made her skin look softer and paler. In the past few months, she'd gotten depressed with life. Her brother didn't talk to her much. Her friends didn't really care that she was moving. Her mom and new dad didn't pay any attention to her really. She felt alone.
Sighing, Karin knocked on the door of her neighbor. Across the way she saw a dead bird. There were a few live birds up on the branch above. That bird's lucky. It doesn't have to see me suffer like these other little brown birds will. she thought, and waited for the owner of the cottage to answer the door.

Killian stopped his walking, he had been on his way to the bathroom to take care of his hand and his foot. He walked now towards his front door, looking out the window above the door quickly and blinked slowly. Opening the door he looked down at the young woman in front of him, his head cocked to the side, blood dripping rapidly from his hand. Killian looked over to the next door cottage to see a mocing van and then looked back to the girl. "Hello. Can I help you?"
His voice was cold as the words rolled off of his tongue, he was rather surprised that someone would be moving in beside him, it'd been a long time. Ah yes... I remember the last neighbours, when I came into their house, found were they slept and then took them by the hair and then slit their- His thoughts were cut off as he began to pay attention to the female again.

Karin looked up from the bird to him. He was handsome, very much so, but also quite...cold. A dripping noise took her attention a moment later, and she seemed to get a tone paler. "You're bleeding." she mumbled. Calm down, calm down. she thought.
Her brother and step-dad went hunting frequently to keep Valentine in control. Once, they came home early and didn't realize she was home. Both were dripping in blood, and that was when she started to feel queasy at the sight. Never before then though.
Brought back to earth, she looked away from the hand and into his eyes. "I...My mom needs to know where the grocery store is here in this...um...town." she answered finally, feeling ackward and cold and sick.

He nodded his head and looked down the road and thought for a few minutes. It wasn't to far away in retrospect actually and he wanted to give her easy directions. "The grocery store is only a few blocks away actually. As you probably could tell this town isn't big. Wait a second and i'll be right back." He said.
Killian disappeared inside of his house, a minute later he was back with a map and a bandage around his arm, he was used to wrapping up wounds very fast from his bounty hunting. "Here. It's a very easy map, you can get them at the grocery store actually..." He stated slowly to her, his hand held out with the map in it.

He shut the door after that and moved back into the kitchen and took a seat at his table, eyes glued outside on the birds on the brnach, He could also see the window to the neighbours house from there. But he never looked at the neighbours, he usually just observed them when they went otuside, how often they left the house and such like that.

Once everything had been moved in, the movers left and it was just the family and the cottage. Her step dad- Aaron- was cooking in the kitchen. "Hey, so what was the neighbor like?" he asked Karin, grinning. Karin was writing a story and looked up from her writing. "Okay, I guess." she answered. "Okay enough that he has some sugar and lemons?" he asked. Karin sighed and stood. "I will go ask." Karin rolled her eyes and grabbed her wallet, willing to pay him back for pestering him again.
She approached the cottage and knew that this 'ask the neighbor if' junk was going to be a frequent thing for her to do. She knocked on the door and waited again.

He stood up from the table, walking to the door again, he had seen the girl come over to the cottage once again, he twitched slightly. Killian rubbed his neck gently and shook his head a bit, he opened the door, looking down at her. "Hello again, do you need something?" Killian asked curiously to her, his head cocked to the side gently.

Karin smiled apologetically at him. "Sorry. Dad wanted to know if you had sugar and or lemons?" she repeated, and opened her wallet. "I'll pay for them if you want..." She would hate herself if she caused him trouble. Some teenagers down the road a ways were watching her talk to the man, eyes a bit wide. "Oh, I'm Karin by the way. I'm kinda guessin' my folks'll be sending me over a few times in the next few weeks." she explained and introduced.

"Put yor money away. I have both of what you need, just wait here." he stated to her, he left like before and into the kitchen. He grabbed a few things for her and then came back to the front door. He held a bag with a about seven lemons and a package of sugar you could by from the store, it was a full one. "My name is Killian. Come by when you need, i'm happy to help." He stated with a nod of her head.

Karin took them from his hands and smiled gratefully at him. "Thanks. Nice to meet you." she said, and turned to leave. She got halfway down the way when the kids came up to her. They were her age, if not a year or so older or younger. "You talked to him?" A Brown haired boy said. He was pretty attractive too. "Yeah...why?" Karin asked, walking around them to get to her cottage. "Aren't you scared? We heard he killed someone and moved here to relax, but secretly kills innocent animals at night." A girl, white- blonde hair and blue eyes, said. Karin rolled her eyes, got to her home, and went in.

He watched her leave secretly from his window and watched the teenagers. He could here them, smirking he shook his head and turned his back to the window, walking to go and sit down in his living room. "Only one person? Ha. I kill people all of the time, i've done it here to, those kids need to get gossip from somebody else." Killian thought to himself darkly. He'd be going to get used to Karin coming over fr the things quickly.

Later That Evening
Aaron could NOT cook to save a dying man's life. And her mother forced them to eat it all. Karin sat in her room. She'd gotten one of the rooms in the upstairs area. They had one of the larger cottages. Karin rolled over on her bed and looked outside at the moon. "I wonder if the moon gets lonely...Everyone goes to sleep at night...Leaving it only wiht those small stars." she mumbled and looked up at a knock. Her mom came in with leftover sugar and lemons. She didn't even have to ask Karin.
Karin put on her hoodie and walked over. IT was only 8, so hopefully he was still up. She knocked on the door softly. The teenagers were still out, and she could hear ghost stories being told, and felt shivers go up her spine. She hated those.

Killian came to the door without a second thought and opened the door, his eyebrow raised at her in question. "Something else I presume?" He asked, he was wearing a black shirt now and had a black leather coat on and some black slacks and black shoes. He had been phoned to go and assasinate someone right before she had come. He was about to leave when the door had been knocked on.
