She certainly was an interesting being. She seemed to be the perfect example of what not to do in elven culture. He would have no problem learning from her. "Are those the only battle scars you've recieved for speaking your mind?" he wondered, knowing she would most likely continue to be amused by his use of the term 'battle scars'.

Her eyes were bright behind her hair and she nodded her head. "Yes, they're the only ones that i've got. I may speak my mind but I usually only have kind things to say." Faye's attention was diverted as she saw the doors open again and a large group of elves entering, including her mother and father. She smiled a little bit but stopped her fidgetting.
As her mother went walking past she paused and looked down at her daughter, her eyes were cold and serious, as was the rest of her expression. Faye tilted her head back and looked up at the woman, smiling a little more, "Mother, a beautiful woman shouldn't scowl like that." The young woman pointed out and received a slightly aggravated sigh.
"Faye, sit properly." Her mother ordered before continuing to her seat near the very head of the table where her husband was already currently sitting.
Faye watched her mother and then looked at Padraic, "You know she says she'd like for me to sit properly but really I don't think she cares what I sit like." She did sit a bit straighter though but refused to uncross her legs.

Padraic hid his minor amusement at Faye's observation and refusal to sit like a normal person. He couldn't afford to be amused, he had to remind himself that he was working and had an impossible task ahead of him. Even though this was only dinner, it was going to be his first look at how the court elves were. He gave a small nod in greeting to Faye's parents.

Seer smiled and nodded back in response, sitting at the very head of the table with his head held high, watching over the rest of the table as it filled with occupants. Faye's mother, Arianna completely ignored Padraic and sat elegantly on the right side of the table near her husband, her eyes straight forward and her frown deep.
"So, as you know my mother and father are the leaders of the high elven council." Faye murmured to the faerie quietly, looking at the head of the table. "Then there's Tabrean, he's the youngest of the council and he's the King's nephew-" She was cut off in her information giving by a sudden and loud 'pop' sound. The entire table had been filled with platters and bowls of food and everyone was beginning to eat. "Oh yes! We don't have to wait for permission to eat unless we are at a royal dinner, then we must wait for permission from the Queen." Faye smiled and grabbed her refilled glass of wine, taking a sip and humming in delight.

Padraic didn't take being ignored personally, he'd noticed that many women in high status acted the same way. He was used to it. He nodded slowly along with Faye's information to let her know that he was listening, though he didn't appear to be paying much attention to her. His eyes were back to watching the others. After taking another sip of wine he filled his plate with some food and began to eat, just as refined and proper as everyone at the table.

Faye drained her second glass of wine and began to murmur a tune under her breath, waving her feet around a little and then getting herself some food. She also ate in a refined manner, silently but a little on the quicker side, she didn't much like sitting around with everyone for dinner for long.
The elves of the council were speaking amongst themselves, Tabrean was a bit on the cocky side, he spoke loudly, enjoying the attention of many on him, and told stories of his life. Few of the council really paid much attention, though they humoured him if he asked them questions.
Quite a number of the council at the moment were sending looks at Padraic now, watching what he did and every move he made. Faye sighed and cast her eyes down to the other end of the table, watching the noble peoples once more and tapping her long fingers on the table quietly. Sometimes the antics of her elders bothered her a little, they were very judgemental and far to uptight.

Padraic felt the eyes on him but did not react in any way. He was used to being judged and was taking care to be on his best behavior. He noticed how attention seeking Tabrean was and knew that at some point he was going to have to humor the elf as well. He was going to be an important, though he expected challenging to recieve, alley. Padraic was not necessarily a fan of overconfident people. His confidence was controlled and self-contained. Flaunting it never seemed like a good idea.

Seer cleared his throat softly, gaining the attention of the council and effectively quieting Tabrean for the moment. "As you know we have a guest staying with us, an ambassador from the faerie realm. His name is Padraic, and of course, as with all of our guests, i'd like for everyone to treat him with respect and civility." He spoke clearly, and smiled, receiving nods of agreement from everyone. With that the council members all looked at Padraic bowing their heads in greeting and some even saying some hello's and welcoming him before slowly resuming their meals.
Faye smiled to herself, glad her father was such a kind man. She looked at Padraic, and then set her elbows on the table, knowing it was improper to do so but not caring at all.

Padraic returned the greeting by bowing his head also to each council member. He didn't interupt their meals by speaking. He turned his attention to Seer and gave the deepest head bow of respect. "Thank you for the welcome." he said polietly and then returned to his meal.

Faye watched them all out of the corner of her eye and saw her fathers smile widen greatly. "How are you enjoying your dinner?" Faye asked after a while, she'd already finished her meal and was continuously drinking her wine and absently listening to Tabrean speak, the man had now began to speak about woman and his conquests with different races. Her nose wrinkled a little and she gave a quiet laugh at herself.

"It's delicious." he told her. Padraic took another small sip of his wine, it looked as though he was merely raising the glass to his lips before setting it down again. "I assume you enjoyed your meal?" he asked, noticing that she appeared to have finished a while ago. Padraic tried to ignore Tabrean's voice for the moment, finding his conversation innappropriate for a meal.

"Ah, yes, I always enjoy the meal but I do enjoy the drink far more." She smiled sheepishly, her cheeks were in fact a little pink. "Wine is one of my many weakness." Faye's eyes brightened behind her hair a little and she leaned a bit closer to him. "He's got about as big a mouth as I do, though I can't say I don't find his stories amusing, cause they are very funny." She laughed under her breath and flopped back against her seat.

This time Padraic let his face betray his amusement at her pink cheeks for a moment, just long enough for her to see it. "Wine is one of many weaknesses of yours? I can't imagine you have an abundant amount of weaknesses." He didn't comment on Tabrean, knowing he was likely to be overheard and that it would be exceedingly rude to possible insult someone his first night there.

"Oh yes, i've quite quite a number of weaknesses." She replied honestly. "But i'll not divulge such information to you at this moment." Faye waggled a finger at him and then laughed a little more. "You really have a wonderful smile." She complimented quietly, unable to stop grinning, she loved to smile.

"I certainly was not expecting you to spill all of your weaknesses to me." he told her as his face resumed its slightly interested look. "As do you." Padraic replied to her compliement easily. It was an honest compliment, but he didn't put any weight behind it.
